Hybrid Job: This job offers the opportunity to work from home as part of a hybrid work arrangement. This arrangement will allow you to work some days at a TCHC work location and the rest of the time from home. The amount of time required to work at a TCHC work location is flexible, while considering operational and service delivery requirements.

It is the people of Toronto Community Housing that make every house a home; find out how you can contribute We are currently looking for one temporary Council Liaison who will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to address all inquiries, requests and concerns from Toronto City Councillors, Provincial MPPs and Federal MPs, and act as the point person to communicate with elected officials and their staff on behalf of TCH in a manner that aligns with TCHC's tenant focused culture.

**What you’ll do**
- Respond to inquiries from elected officials and their staff made on behalf of TCH residents on a wide array of concerns and complaints;
- Liaise with staff across the corporation to ensure inquiries are appropriately addressed/resolved;
- Communicate outcome back to elected officials in a timely manner consistent with TCH policies and procedures.
- Respond directly to inquiries from elected officials about TCH policies and processes, applicable legislation, and general requests for information;
- Conduct appropriate research or engage in discussion with TCH staff where required to address the inquiry;
- Meet with elected officials and their staff upon request to provide information, advice, etc. on TCH-related matters;
- Arrange meetings for elected officials with appropriate TCH staff where warranted.
- Assist the Advisor, Stakeholder Relations in responding to inquiries from the Toronto Ombudsman's office;
- Work closely with staff across the corporation to ensure they are appropriately addressed/resolved;
- Communicate outcomes back to Ombudsman’s office in a timely manner, as directed.
- Direct the Planning Assistant to research and gather information on incoming inquiries from elected officials
- Quality check and utilize information gathered to respond to elected officials;
- Direct the Planning Assistant to assist with generating information packages for meetings with elected officials;
- Assign overflow of work and research assignments to the Planning Assistant.
- Prepare updates, briefing notes, and reports as required;
- Gather and synthesizes information to support projects and initiatives;
- Other duties as assigned.

**What you’ll need**
- Minimum some post-secondary education in a relevant field of study (i.e. Public Relations, Communications, Political Science, etc.)
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in political affairs, public relations, government relations, communications, or issues management.
- Preferred four (4) years’ experience in political affairs, public relations, government relations, communications, or issues management
- Two (2) years’ experience in a political role at Toronto City Hall and/or Queen’s Park is an asset
- Knowledge of the social housing sector and applicable legislation
- Knowledge of City Council, their processes, and how they operate
- Proven ability to effectively interact and engage with a variety of stakeholders
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent time management and conflict resolution skills
