**An overview of your future role at BBA**

You’ll be reporting to the Director, Health, Safety and Environment, and will work closely with other members of the project team. Your main responsibilities will include developing and implementing the principal contractor’s prevention program and maintaining a healthy OHS culture during projects. You’ll use your experience and knowledge to actively support the project team by providing advice and using your problem-solving abilities.

**An overview of your mandates and responsibilities**
- Help plan, develop and deploy the principal contractor’s prevention program.
- Help prepare proposals and select contractors.
- Attend contractors’ pre-mobilization meetings.
- Produce and maintain key performance indicators.
- Provide advice, strategies and solutions to management and project staff in terms of any health and safety questions.
- Perform daily onsite inspections and recommend the measures necessary to ensure worker health and safety, provide notices of correction, where necessary, and follow up.
- Identify and foresee health and safety concerns and risks by surveying environmental, operational and occupational conditions; investigate violations and recommend prevention programs.
- Perform project audits based on the established frequency.
- Attend or host site committee meetings.
- When necessary, attend the contractors’ tailboard meetings.
- Receive and manage all project event reports; investigate, where necessary.

**Overview of job requirements**
- From 8 to 10 years of experience as Coordinator, OHS
- Possess the CNESST Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator certificate.
- A bachelor’s degree or college diploma in OHS, or equivalent (DCS in environment, occupational health and safety) or a certificate in OHS or industrial relations
- Experience in an industrial environment
- Experience with major projects
- Experience implementing an OHS management system and key performance indicators
- Proficient in French (spoken and written); English would be an asset
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong ability to communicate and problem-solve
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
