ABOUT OUR OPERATION

The Support and Development Center provide services to Agnico Eagle's various Canadian and / or international mining operations in a variety of areas, including administration, financial services, IT, supply chain, human resources, communications, construction as well as technical services (geology, engineering, metallurgy, infrastructure, marketing, innovation, and digital transformation).

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

As a member of the Community Relations department, the Community Relations Coordinator role is pivotal in supporting and enhancing our community relations efforts and initiatives, with a focus on promoting best practices. You will facilitate internal collaboration mechanisms within the AEM Community Relations teams to ensure seamless coordination and synergy. Additionally, you will actively engage in Reconciliation Action initiatives, fostering close collaboration with various stakeholders for event organizing and reconciliation actions implementation.

  • Support the Reconciliation action plan implementation and mechanism: Actively engage in Reconciliation Action initiatives, working closely with various organizations, departments (Communication, Supply Chain, etc.), mining sites, consultants, and Indigenous communities.
  • Support and organize the Reconciliation Action Plan consultations ensuring effective mechanisms and reporting.
  • Lead the Community of Practice in Community Relations (CoPCR): ensure the coordination and animation of monthly CoPCR meetings and support initiatives to foster best practices and collaboration across Agnico Eagle sites .
  • Organize and coordinate important awareness events, such as MMIWG2+ Day, and Truth and Reconciliation Day, ensuring their successful execution.
  • Responsible for Data Management, Project Support, and Administrative Duties: Provide comprehensive data collection, analysis, and reporting utilizing Borealis and other tools, alongside supporting community relations projects from initiation to conclusion, and administering administrative tasks for the Community Relations team, including report generation and note-taking.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • University degree in a field related to community relations, public relations, communications, human resources, or any university degree with experience relevant to community relations;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience;
  • Experience in event organization;
  • Experience in stakeholder relations as well as in the mining industry, is an asset;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and foster positive relationships with diverse stakeholders;
  • Excellent organizational abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively;
  • Understanding of Indigenous reconciliation principles and experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset;
  • Have a valid driver's license and be able to travel;
  • Proficiency in the use of the French language;
  • Proficiency in the use of the English language as you will be working in collaboration with other Agnico Eagle sites where English is the primary language.

Your Work Schedule

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday. Possibility of 5-2-4-3 schedule.
  • Workplace: Possibility to work from one of AEM office, with frequent presence to CTMN located in Val-d’Or. Travels to our different sites and communities are expected punctually. There is a possibility to have a hybrid work schedule, working some days from an AEM office and some days in telecommuting.
