**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
As a Cannabis Cultivation Specialist, you will play a vital role in our production operations, working alongside a team of experienced cultivators to ensure the growth and development of high-quality cannabis products. Your keen eye for detail, scientific understanding of plant biology, and passion for horticulture will be instrumental in achieving outstanding results.

**Cannabis Cultivation Technician Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with our expert team in all stages of cannabis production, from seed to final sale, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
- Implement and follow standard operating procedures, ensuring adherence to regulations and industry best practices.
- Maintain and calibrate cultivation equipment to optimize plant health and productivity.
- Keep accurate records and documentation of cultivation activities, guaranteeing traceability and compliance with regulations.
- Nurture and care for cannabis plants throughout their growth cycle, employing integrated pest management and preventive measures.
- Implement effective irrigation and watering techniques, utilizing both manual and automated systems.
- Skillfully trim and maintain the health of live plants throughout their growth cycle.
- Assist in research projects, working closely with senior cultivation team members to explore innovative cultivation techniques.
- Trim, process, and package dried cannabis and related products with utmost precision and attention to detail.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all cultivation equipment, workstations, and facilities to uphold a safe and hygienic environment.
- Safely handle concentrated materials, including cleaning agents and concentrated fertigation and nutrient compounds, following strict safety protocols and guidelines.

**Requirements**:

- Must have a degree from a post secondary institution in a related scientific field such as Agriculture, Biology, or Horticulture.
- Strong Agricultural background in a GAP and HACCP regulated environment, with proficiency in various cultivation and plant maintenance techniques.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in cannabis cultivation, horticulture, or related field.
- Open to work weekends and holidays.
- Local to the Edmonton Area or able to commute, with reliable transportation.
- Able to work comfortably in hot and humid cultivation spaces with bright lights (with provided PPE).
- Performing physical activities for duration of shift (standing, walking, moving equipment, stairs) including repetitive movements (trimming, packaging, planting).
- Lift and move up to 50 lbs (22kg)
- Comfortable squatting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as needed, including but not limited to sanitary clothing covers, gloves, mask, respirator, and/or eye protection while working.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and willing to provide proof upon employment.
- Plant pathogens and pests, including identification, causes, and treatments.
- Cannabis plant health, growing conditions, and large-scale production practices.
- General plant growth mechanisms, phytohormone interactions, and anatomy.
- Indoor horticultural watering systems.
- GPP, GMP and GLP and other Cannabis regulatory practices.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $15.00 per hour
