General Manager /Pastry chef Job Description:
The responsibilities would include, but are not limited to, working closely in a managerial role with staff members, overseeing scheduling, monitoring productivity, and providing feedback to ensure that staff are providing the best experience possible to customers. Track and maintain inventory to ensure that supplies are available as needed, as well as monitor labour margins.

This will include being responsible for daily operations, supervising and training staff, perform maintenance and repairs on equipment, process payments, banking, maintain a clean and presentable environment within the café, and ensure that all duties within the café are executed with customer service in mind.

The goal of this job is to increase the profit margins of the bakery and to establish a loyal customer base to make the café a local hotspot for the community.

This position includes being a manager to both FOH and kitchen in regard to the fundamentals of a staff member, as well as kitchen product maintenance.

**Duties FOH**:

- Assigning tasks to employees and overseeing workflow of your department to reach productivity goals
- Answering questions from employees and providing hands-on direction and guidance
- Training new employees on company procedures
- Coaching existing employees on new tasks and responsibilities
- Creating and monitoring performance goals
- Monitoring employee work tasks and reassigning duties as required
- Addressing questions or complaints from customers
- Obtaining employee personnel records when first hired.
- Gathering information and submitting performance reports to owner when needed.
- Providing feedback to the owner about employees eligible for promotions
- Informing owner about any disciplinary issues with employees that need to be addressed
- Keeping up with inventory and stock. Making appropriate lists for easy and concise ordering.
- Overseeing that product is up to company standards
- Weekly ordering of needed products or ingredients to keep the business flowing.
- Monitoring the cash
- Ensuring you have clear and consistent communication between yourself and the other supervisors and managers.
- Competing all lists laid out by management
- Monitoring of online daily orders
- Oversee all managerial lists for opening and closing the bakery
- Awareness of all WorkSafe hazards and addressing immediately
- Upholding the harassment policy guidelines and if theres an issue, owner should be informed immediately

**Duties BOH -**
- Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities
- Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions
- Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
- Estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labour costs
- Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and cooks
- Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
- Recruit and hire staff
- May prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.
- Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
- Prepare and cook complete meals or specialty foods, such as pastries, sauces, soups, salads, vegetables and meat, poultry and fish dishes, and create decorative food displays for special events such as banquets
- Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
- Create new recipes
- May plan menus and requisition food and kitchen supplies
- May prepare and cook meals or specialty foods.

- Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $52,000.00 per year
