**The salary range for this position is**:
**Recruitment range: $59,180 - $66,608** starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.

**Performance range: starting salary to max of $77,666** is available through annual performance increases.

- Job SummaryReporting to the NCIED Gustavson School of Business Champion, the Manager collaborates with the NCIED Director and the Business and Law faculty champions to design and develop initiatives and coordinate multiple projects from concept to completion. Because the Manager works closely and maintains relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders across Canada, including Indigenous Nations and communities, federal and provincial government officials, and leaders from academic institutions and industry, it is important that the Manager has the ability to interact professionally, respectfully and with cultural competence.

The position is responsible for related academic, administrative and communication activities, and liaising with UVic’s internal and external stakeholders and university departments.

Programs, initiatives and events may take place outside of regular work hours and away from UVic, and when necessary, require working evenings, weekends as well as occasional travel within Canada.
- Job RequirementsAn undergraduate degree in business or related discipline that is appropriate for this role and at least five years’ related experience. Experience must include a range of administrative and professional experiences, responsibility for managing special projects, and a high level of interpersonal skills.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

**Knowledge requirements include**:

- Knowledge of Indigenous issues, particularly as they relate to post-secondary education and Indigenous business development
- Cultural awareness and understanding of appropriate protocol with Indigenous communities and organizations
- Expertise with complex administrative procedures
- Project management best practices, particularly in managing numerous priorities and meeting tight deadlines
- Proposal and report writing
- Social Media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.), and how they can be most appropriately deployed in an Indigenous context

**Competency requirements include**:

- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage projects and produce deliverables of a high quality
- Demonstrated leadership, supervisory skills and the ability to inspire a team
- Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with all stakeholders
- Ability to work cross-culturally, in particular across the range of Indigenous communities
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population and with all levels of university personnel
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated excellence in administrative and organizational skills
- Ability to exercise discretion in dealing with highly confidential matters
