**Position**:Youth Program Coordinator - 11 month contract

**Salary/Hours**: $20/hr for 30 hrs/week - with ability to work evenings and weekends

**Location**:Hybrid 70% In-person in the Willowdale community and 30% Virtual

**Position Summary**: Reporting to the Executive Director, the youth program coordinator is an enthusiastic and empathetic community connecting individual. The youth program coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating and successfully delivering an afterschool program for an under-resourced community in Willowdale.

**Details**: The youth program coordinator will be primarily responsible for:
**Program Management (60%)**
- Planning, implementing, executing and evaluating NeighbourLink’s after school program.
- Developing program policies, procedures and guidelines needed to carry out the program.
- Collaborating with the Community Care Team and the Community Care Consultant to provide appropriate support and develop plans for youth who require more assistance.
- Establishing an atmosphere of respect and dignity in all areas of the after school program that includes ensuring confidentiality of information, and creating a welcoming and respectful environment for youth and volunteers.
- Ensuring that the programs and services are effective in meeting the needs of youth.
- Develop and deliver internal and external information sessions.
- In collaboration with the youth, develop summer programming.
- Determining the gaps in service delivery and recommending strategies for improvement.
- Developing and maintaining an awareness of services and programs for children and

youth in the region and refers clients when appropriate.
- Due to the nature of our work some home visits to clients may be required.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory health and safety requirements.

**Communications and Administration (20%)**
- Engaging with community partners, including churches, supporting organizations, local businesses and neighbours to support the program. This is to be done in collaboration with other teams to ensure no overlap occurs.
- Collaborating with the Communications Coordinator and the Development Coordinator to create compelling materials and content for our stakeholders and donors as well as identifying strategies and next steps to increase community engagement.
- Providing updates to the leadership team at weekly staff meetings.
- Reporting on trends and priorities needed for children and youth in the community
- Track expenses in line with program budgets.
- Perform other relevant duties.

**People Management (20%)**
- Collaborating with the Community Engagement Coordinator to ensure that best practices are integrated in training and orientation.
- Ensuring staff coverage and appropriate ratios for safe program delivery.
- Overseeing Client-Volunteer interactions to ensure clear program delivery expectations and outcomes.
- Ensuring that all staff and volunteers create a non-judgmental environment for program delivery
- Depending on success of Canada Summer Jobs may oversee one student for summer program.

**Qualifications**:

- A bachelor's degree or diploma in social work or related field.
- Commitment to working for and with low-income people, diverse cultural groups and to the principles of anti-oppression, diversity and social justice work.
- Strong understanding of and commitment to inclusivity.
- Experience working in the non-profit sector and with vulnerable populations.
- Principles of Healthy Child Development High 5 Certified an asset.
- Must have the desire and ability to work with children in an indoor and outdoor setting.
- Superb organizational, project and time management, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail; strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, research, and analytical skills.
- Energetic, friendly, enthusiastic, patient and flexible.
- First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
- Able to multitask and demonstrate flexibility in taking on new tasks as they arise.
- Ability to work well independently while contributing to a team environment.
