**The Teams**
Intake and Assessment Team (Port Moody)
The Intake and Assessment Team in Port Moody is a dynamic and supportive group that is currently in the process of rebuilding. With a mix of experienced staff and new team members, this team is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of families facing child protection concerns. You'll be working alongside as the Team Leader to seven child protection workers, collaborating closely with other Indigenous teams to provide a holistic approach to support families. Maple Ridge Family Services Team (Maple Ridge)
The Maple Ridge Family Services Team is a well-established and cohesive team, made up of one Team Leader and five Family Service Workers. They work together seamlessly to provide critical support to families navigating child protection challenges. The team closely collaborates with other Indigenous teams to ensure they provide culturally relevant and sensitive services to the families they serve. If you join this team, you will be part of a group that already works well together, offering a stable and supportive environment. New Westminster/Burnaby Family Services Team (Burnaby)
The New Westminster/Burnaby Family Services Team offers a calm, positive, and supportive work environment. With a strong foundation, this established team is made up of one Team Leader and five Family Service Workers who work collaboratively to address child protection concerns. The team regularly partners with other Indigenous teams to ensure their work is culturally informed and responsive to the unique needs of the families they serve. The team prides itself on creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages professional growth while fostering a sense of community and inclusivity. **The Role**
As the Team Leader, Indigenous Services, you will supervise a dedicated group of child protection workers who assess reports of child abuse and neglect, always prioritizing the least intrusive measures to keep children safe. You’ll guide your team in providing services that address the concerns and needs of families, with a strong focus on supporting reunification when children are not in the home due to safety concerns. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to work directly with Indigenous families, ensuring culturally safe and sensitive services that help strengthen and support them. As a leader, you’ll be part of a larger network of seven Team Leaders and two Directors of Operations, all working toward the goal of keeping Indigenous children, youth, and families safe and healthy. The work is deeply rewarding, as you’ll witness the positive impact your team’s efforts have on families and their long-term success.

**Qualifications**:
**Education and Experience Requirements**
***1. Preferred Credentials**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Social Work or in Child & Youth Care **OR** Master's Degree in Educational Counselling Psychology/Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with completion of a practicum in family and child welfare **OR**:

- In-service Ministry of Children and Family Development employees who have a regular full working level SPO 24-30 base position that requires delegation under the Child, Family and Community Services Act (CFCSA) **OR**:

- **NOTE**:If this education was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a comprehensive report and the MCFD supplemental report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
- At least 2 years of job-specific work experience.
- Experience supervising staff.

**2. Expanded Credentials**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field **OR** Bachelor’s Degree with a Major/Honors in a Human Services field **OR** Master’s level graduate Certificate/Diploma in a Human Services field **AFTER** the completion of an unrelated Bachelor’s Degree.
