**The Team**
The North Fraser Out of Care team is a newly formed and passionate group dedicated to supporting children and youth by connecting them with extended family or individuals who hold cultural or traditional responsibilities. Our current team of five social workers is committed to serving the North side of the North East Fraser Service Delivery Area, making sure that the process of placing children with caring relatives is as smooth and effective as possible. We work closely with other MCFD teams to keep children close to their families, cultures, and communities, aiming to provide loving and stable alternatives to foster care. **Qualifications**:
**Applicants may be considered who meet the preferred OR expanded credentials and experience requirements**

**1. Preferred Credentials**:

- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Social Work or in Child & Youth Care** OR** Master's Degree in Educational Counselling Psychology/Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with completion of a practicum in family and child welfare **OR**:

- In-service Ministry of Children and Family Development employees who have a regular full working level SPO 24-30 base position that requires delegation under the Child, Family and Community Services Act (CFCSA) **OR**:

- **NOTE**: If this education was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a comprehensive report and the MCFD supplemental report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
- At least 2 years of job-specific work experience.
- Experience supervising staff.

**2. Expanded Credentials**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field **OR** Bachelor’s Degree with a Major/Honors in a Human Services field **OR** Master’s level graduate Certificate/Diploma in a Human Services field **AFTER** the completion of an unrelated Bachelor’s Degree.
- **NOTE**: If this education was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
- Minimum 1 year of related work experience and at least 2 years of job-specific work experience **OR** At least 3 years of job-specific work experience.
- Experience supervising staff.

Human Services fields include: Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Anthropology, Early Childhood Education, Indigenous Studies, Education, Theology or Nursing.

**Preference may be given to applicants with the following**:

- Preferred education credentials **AND/OR** in-service Ministry of Children and Family Development employees who hold a regular full working level SPO 24-30 base position that requires delegation under the Child, Family and Community Services Act (CFCSA).
- Eligible for delegation under the Child, Family and Community Services Act (CFSCA).
- Six (6) or more months of consecutive Team Leader Experience with in the last 3 years
- One (1) or more years experience working with clients in Out Of Care
- One (1) or more years experience working with Indigenous Families, Communities and Children and Youth in care
- Experience in administrating contracts
- Experience working with MCFD systems (ICM, MIS)
- Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous with the required combination of education and experience.
