**The Opportunity**:The roots worker’s role is to ensure that each child in CSFS care has the best possible plan developed for his/her needs: while also supporting and encouraging a connection for each child with their extended family, culture and community.
- ** Conduct interviews with the child/youth in care and their support networks including identifying additional relatives or other important people in their life**:

- ** Work collaboratively with the guardianship workers and complete comprehensive file reviews to identify family and community connections, ensuring the child’s cultural identity is preserved**:

- ** Screen identified relatives or other identified individuals in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and legislation**

**What You Will Bring to The Role**:

- ** Bachelors or Diploma in Human Services, Social Work or Youth Care**:

- ** One to Two years experience working with children in care**:

- ** Work experience through completion of a practicum in family and child welfare, and completion of the Child Protection Worker Pre-Employment Program will be considered**
