Position Information

**Position Title**
- Infrastructure Services Manager (Information Technology Services)**Position Summary**
- Do you have experience overseeing the technical management of a large-scale Enterprise network? Our Information Technology Services leadership team is looking for a technically experienced **Infrastructure Services Manager.**Position Responsibilities**

**Service Operations Management**
- Coordinates and manages service deliverables and client expectations, ensuring staff compliance with established procedures to ensure prompt and quality service for IT service requests
- Coordinates and manages the analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of new service initiatives
- Coordinates capacity planning and acquisition of servers, networks, and communications devices
- Coordinates and manages the daily operation of on prem and cloud IT infrastructure and all related network and telecom services
- Management of 0365, Azure tenant and Active Directory services.
- Reviews and approves major contracts for computing and information technology services and equipment
- Identify operational inefficiencies, opportunities for enterprise solutions, conflicting business practices and integration issues to facilitate better project outcomes

**Strategic Planning for Infrastructure and Operations**
- Contributes to the preparation, development, and monitoring of operating and capital budgets, and works with the IT Director and CIO to manage the budget process
- Contributes to determining the strategic direction of the Division of IT Services in collaboration with the other IT Services managers, and in support of the IT Director and CIO
- Plans and develops initiatives, objectives and activities for the Infrastructure section based on department goals/plans

**Project Management**
- Coordinates and assigns research as appropriate to projects or initiatives within the section, including reviews of related developments in the post-secondary sector
- Coordinates and provides guidance to staff in reviewing business requirements, setting expectations and establishing priorities for projects that offer solutions to business needs;
- Liaises with end user groups to help define focus and scope of IT projects
- Prepares business cases for IT Services driven projects
- Makes product and vendor recommendations/decisions pertaining to the technology objectives of the department

**People Leadership**
- Responsible for effective recruitment and selection, retention, coaching, supervision, performance management in compliance with People and Culture policies and procedures, FOIPP, and collective agreements in support of a high performing team
- Facilitates where necessary discipline and dismissal of reporting staff, in consultation with the Chief Information Officer
- Directs the day-to-day operations of direct report(s) providing client interface, direction, expectation and priority setting, and problem-solving assistance
- Operationalizes and applies Collective Agreements and ensure Policy Compliance

**Required Qualifications**
- Two-year Diploma in Information and/or Computer Technology, with preference for a Four-year degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Information Technology
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supervising and coordinating staff

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience in a post-secondary or education environment is desired
- Demonstrated experience in project management in the IT field
- Strong technical background in cloud infrastructure, networking and telecommunication systems
- Strong interpersonal, diplomacy, and communication (verbal & written) skills: the ability to interact effectively and sensitively with a wide variety of people with diverse professional and technical backgrounds
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, and ability to challenge others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor
- Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills: the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast paced and complex technical environment and the ability to adapt to changing customer’s needs and priorities
- Flexible and collaborative work style, with a pro-active and solutions-oriented approach
- Ability to successfully plan, implement, and lead complex technical projects, including planning for future growth
- Professional development focus: ability and interest to stay current with new technologies
- Ability to communicate IT related information in a manner applicable to the audience
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement IT-based solutions
