Join a Calgary fabrication team that manufactures Heat Exchangers, primarily for the Oil & Gas industry. The Project Manager is accountable for the project budget schedule and quality to optimize the client’s profitability, meet and/or exceed customer requirements, and maintain and enhance customer relationships.This position reports to the Senior Manager, Project Management Office.

**Accountabilities**:

- Liaison role between the customer and project team, to ensure project viability through project lifecycle
- Focus on project scope, cost, and schedule, facilitating commercial optimization, managing customer relationships, and delivering the product on-time, on-budget, and on-quality.
- Balancing the interests of the client, the customer and industry to provide a product and service as contractually agreed upon with the customer.
- Acting as a focal point of contact for resolving issues between the customer and Sales and Estimating, Engineering, Drafting, Production, Quality Control and Quality Assurance, Procurement, Production, Shipping, and Invoicing.
- Identifying opportunities to optimize end-to-end business processes.
- Processing of customer change requests in line with corporate policies to ensure project viability
- Schedule regular customer meetings to identify and resolve issues and ensure payment milestones are met and invoiced in a timely manner
- Project status reporting to customer and the client with respect to on-time delivery, budget, escalation of risks and issues
- Ensuring projects comply with corporate policies and procedures, including the engineering process, drafting process, squad checks and document control

**Customer PO Review - Project Management initial review**:

- Review and analyze the Purchase Order sign-off and technical packages to align with baseline project schedule, incorporating input from Project Team
- Liaison with Sales and Estimating, Engineering/Drafting, Document Control and customers including kick-off meetings to review project scope, methods, constraints, sequencing, etc.; clarification of issues and ensuring the customer is aware of, and accepts the project approach

**Engineering**:

- Facilitate the completion of this phase by working with Document Control to complete the
- Document Control Index, review, and address customer changes, provide direction to Engineering to complete all Thermal and Mechanical calculations to facilitate the drafting process
- Ensure the design review carried out by Engineering incorporates Customer, code, and budget requirements
- Managing the resolution of welding procedures, inspection and test plans, non-destructive examination procedures, and production procedures meet customer, code, and budget requirements

**Drafting**:

- Facilitate on-time completion of the schedule by working with Drafting and Document Control to complete packages for submission to customer
- Manage the IFC Package release, e.g., schedule Squad Check, redline review and disposition of comments, release the job, ensuring the project plan, schedule and scope are met

**Purchasing**:

- Review and approve ancillary/adjunct Purchase Orders, provide commercial evaluation of supplier quotations
- Facilitate on-time, on-budget delivery by monitoring the coordination of material arrival dates and variance to budget

**Fabrication/Production**:

- Organize pre-fabrication meetings to communicate special concerns, quality standards, constraints, schedules, etc.
- Attend Production meetings as the voice of the customer while still balancing the appropriate needs of the company and the customer, and inform customers of job progress

**Documentation**:

- Work with Document Control and functional groups to ensure that documentation meets customer specifications and is submitted and approved in a timely manner
- Ensure that all final documentation is completed to the customer’s satisfaction upon completion of fabrication

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- University degree in Engineering preferred
- Current Professional Project Management (PMP) designation is an asset
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
- Facilitation, Negotiation, and conflict resolution skills internally and with customers/suppliers
- Customer relationship management skills
- Advanced computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project
- Ability to learn new tools/processes including computer-based project tracking software
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings

- 2 locations in Calgary. Office and manufacturing facility is located in Calgary (Quarry Park area)
