Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a Front Store Clerk (Cosmetics) to join our Gimli, MB location at Pharmasave #451 Gimli.

Reporting to the Front Store Manager and the Store Operator/Pharmacy Manager, The Front Store Clerk (Cosmetics) is responsible for ordering all store fashion items, giftware and cosmetics. They will also be responsible for inventory control and merchandising duties such as setting up displays and ensuring all stock is properly priced. Their team must be knowledgeable about following proper merchandising techniques such as stock rotation and sequencing. The Front Store Clerk (Cosmetics) will provide customers with friendly, knowledgeable and professional service. This position will be key in achieving store excellence in retail merchandising, inventory management and customer service and actively contributing to an environment of employee and customer engagement.
- 40 hours per week.
- The store is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- The usual shifts will fall between these days and times.

**Responsibilities**:
Buying
- Determine suitable product mix and place all wholesale and direct orders.
- Review all orders with sales representatives before approval.
- Utilize a purchase order and claim form system for all transactions.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels of all cosmetics utilizing an inventory control system to guard against overstock or out-of-stock items.
- Count all major lines once a month, for inventory and thief control.
- Contact sales representatives if orders are needed between calls.
- Organize supplier returns. Resolve returns before orders are placed.
- Markdown dead stock regularly to avoid the accumulation of inventory.
- Carry out price changes and updates as required.
- Check prices of local competition on key items.

Merchandising
- Maintains sales floor presentation by stocking and rotating merchandise.
- Set up seasonal displays and decorating.
- Change corner and top displays regularly (at least once per month).
- Ensure a strong signage program. Change regularly.
- Arrange countertops and displays in an uncrowded manner.
- Ensure the cosmetic area is dusted, clean and free of boxes and clutter.
- Remove damaged or out-of-date goods.
- Face sections daily.

Promotional Activities
- Organize ongoing creative promotional activities to generate excitement and increase sales.
- Negotiate with suppliers (and the help of the store buyer) co-op monies to be applied to cosmetic advertising.
- Offer regular in-store specials (approx. 4 per week).
- Develop community involvement to increase exposure.
- Develop an industry “awareness” including competitor’s activities, display techniques and product lines not stocked.

Service and Selling
- Greet all customers and create a warm, friendly environment.
- Assists customers by promoting products/services, locating merchandise and making purchase decisions.
- Practice selling techniques to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction.
- Keep other store staff aware of new cosmetic products and promotional details.
- Resolves customer issues and refers concerns to management where appropriate.
- Ensures proper handling of claims and returns, secures merchandise, identifies high-shrink items and maintains a safe work environment per Company policies and procedures.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Previous retail and merchandising experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of cosmetic products and trends is an asset.
- Proven skills to provide advice and guidance to customers on products, services and store promotions.
- Excellent knowledge of various products and services available with the ability to effectively demonstrate the use of products.
- Ability to communicate clearly and positively with customers, vendors, employees, and management.
- Ability to maintain a professional image and demeanour.
- Ability to be flexible and handle change positively.
- Keen interest in learning more about health, cosmetics, fashion and beauty.
- May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Physical work including; but not limited to bending, lifting, and reaching.
