**Description**

The **Haskayne School of Business** is currently seeking a Full-time Regular **Manager, Audio-Visual, IT & Facilities**.

The Manager, AV / IT & Facilities is instrumental in advancing the strategic vision of the Haskayne School of Business through operational excellence. This role leads a team responsible for all aspects of facility planning, maintenance, and operations, including AV/IT systems. The team ensures a reliable, safe, and well-maintained environment for all Haskayne faculty and staff while managing high volumes of work with shifting priorities and tight deadlines. Errors in this role can have significant impacts.

As a change agent and advocate for process improvement, the Manager demonstrates strong leadership and inspires team performance. They are a collaborative partner, building relationships with Haskayne faculty and staff, University central service units and counterparts in other faculties, as well as external providers. The Manager proactively enhances processes, develops and implements standard operating procedures, and contributes to essential policy development.

This position reports directly to the Senior Director, Strategy & Administration of the Haskayne School of Business. Due to operational requirements, the role is on-campus and not eligible for hybrid or remote work. Primary working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. (35 hours per week); however, due to constantly shifting priorities, flexibility is essential, including some evening and weekend hours.

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):

- Oversee all aspects of staff performance, including hiring, delegation, goal setting, training, performance reviews, and, if necessary, disciplinary action.
- Address complex issues and interpersonal interactions with diplomacy and professionalism.
- Lead team recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management processes.
- Develop strategies to enhance staff engagement and achieve positive stakeholder outcomes.
- Foster a culture of process excellence, continuous improvement, and high service standards.
- Manage key relationships with UCalgary business units (e.g., Facilities, IT, PMO) to ensure service delivery standards are clearly defined and consistently achieved.
- Oversee workload distribution and delegate tasks effectively to maximize team efficiency.
- Ensure stakeholders have accessible, user-friendly systems for interacting with the Operations & Administration (O&A) Hub and team members.
- Identify and analyze business needs; develop and oversee budgets, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures aligned with the School's strategic plan.
- Provide timely, accurate reporting of metrics tied to the School's strategic objectives.
- Create a service catalog with defined expectations, service level achievements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with central business units to lead the planning, maintenance, and operation of the School's AV/IT systems, ensuring high-quality functionality.
- Provide leadership in facility planning, maintenance, and operations to maintain the School's high-quality standards.
- Manage inventory of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), including storage areas and the School's art collection.
- Oversee space planning, renovations, and refurbishment initiatives based on School needs.
- Work with internal stakeholders, central service teams, and other UCalgary business units to pilot operational improvement projects.
- Ensure all processes have updated standard operating procedures, service level expectations, and transparent performance measures.
- Research and leverage best practices in operational improvement from external sources.
- Develop and implement effective, ongoing training and communications for in-scope processes.
- Use tools and technology to enrich customer experience and support operational excellence.
- Monitor internal business processes to ensure consistent adherence and high-quality service delivery.
- Establish systems to maintain accurate records of AV/IT and facility-related tickets, resolve issues efficiently, and escalate incidents as needed.
- Develop a tracking system for licenses, warranties, and agreements related to operational services and technology.
- Assist the Senior Director, Strategy & Administration with strategic or special projects supporting Haskayne's strategic plan, AV/IT, facilities, and operational processes.
- Ensure Haskayne's compliance with University of Calgary safety and wellness requirements, including Business Continuity Plans and Emergency Response Plans.

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, preferably in a post-secondary institution or project management environment.
