As a Physical Training Instructor (PTI) for the Calgary Police Service, you will promote physical fitness and wellness amongst members. You will facilitate physical training objectives established within the recruit course curriculum, support the Fitness Unit in fitness and wellness promotion, and create opportunities for involvement in active living and special events. Primary duties include:

- Conduct police applicant physical abilities testing (A-PREP).
- Facilitate strength and conditioning training for applicants, conditionally hired recruit constables, recruit constables, and sworn and civilian employees.
- Develop and deliver training programs for beginners to high performance athletes.
- Conduct occupational fitness testing.
- Various administrative tasks.

**Qualifications**
***
- A degree in Kinesiology or related field and at least 1 year of related experience
- A valid Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CEP) or American College of Sports Medicine Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP) Certification is required.
- Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Certification is also required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with online coaching platforms.
- You have a demonstrated commitment to health, wellness, and fitness.
- Previous experience in occupational strength and conditioning training for Law Enforcement, Fire or Military will be considered an asset.
- Success in this position requires excellent communication and relationship building skills; the ability to coach and develop others; a focus on results; change management skills; analytical thinking ability; proven efficiency and thoroughness.

**Working Conditions**:
***Some outside running in poor weather and moving heavy equipment is required.

**Pre-employment Requirements**An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
Practical assessment of coaching competency.
Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
