In 2021, BHP approved a US$5.7 billion investment in Jansen Stage 1 in Canada, which is aligned with their strategy of growing exposure to future facing commodities in world-class assets. The project is expected to produce 4.35 million tonnes of potash per year with initial production targeted for 2027, ramping up to full production over two years. Jansen is located in the world’s best potash basin and is in an attractive investment jurisdiction. It opens up a new front for growth and is an expandable resource that can support a century or more of operations. Potash provides BHP with greater diversification by commodity, country, and customer.

BHP’s minerals exploration hub is located in Toronto, Canada, and has a number of partnerships with Canada based companies operating in the Americas. With this increased footprint, there is a desire to strengthen and deepen BHP’s reputation and relationships in Canada.

**About the Role - Job Description**:
Reporting into the Project Director, Jansen Stage 1, the Head of Project Delivery provides senior leadership to area teams focused on execution of construction strategies, standards/ frameworks, integration, and interface management across the projects lifecycle to ensure delivery in line with the approved statement of requirements across the Jansen Potash Asset. They will integrate plans and activities across functional boundaries to deliver a strategy for safe productivity as this world renowned Asset accelerates towards production; thus a critical role to the success of this new commodity at BHP.

The Head of Project Delivery, Jansen will be required to engage with leaders in the Potash business and other functional teams, and is expected to build relationships as a trusted Project Delivery leader. The role will work closely with the Project Leadership Team and provide Project Delivery input to strategic decision making and planning for the development of the Potash business in Canada.

This is a global search; with the role to be based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

**About You - Skills and Qualifications**:

**Requirements**:

- Extensive expertise in Project/Construction/Site Operations/Mining Operations; with significant experience in Project Management and Leadership Roles
- Tertiary qualification (Bachelor’s Degree) in Engineering, Finance, Science, Management or equivalent; Masters or Advanced Degree preferred
- Deep knowledge in operational readiness or operations ramp up in a greenfield or brownfield operation
- Experience with global mine operations and minerals or other extractives/resources project developments is essential
- A track record of building an inclusive, high-performing culture across teams and disciplines to deliver outcomes; including third-party vendors
- Proven experience in financial modeling and analysis and strong contractual acumen; an exceptional commercial mindset and ability to create long term value
- Ability to engage and influencing at the most senior levels of the business and with external stakeholder to drive and lead change
- Demonstrated confidence in Safety Leadership and holding yourself and others accountable via unwavering Ethics and Integrity
