**Position**:Relief Employee (Union Position)

**Rate of Pay**:$21.74/hour

**Current Location**:Richmond Hill Day Program (10 West Pearce Street) and 160 Avenue Road, Richmond Hill (Richvale Community Centre)

**Hours and Days of Work**

Must have availability to work Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 3pm

**Qualifications**
- Diploma or degree program in a related field (Developmental Services Worker, Social Service Worker, Community Service Worker, Behavioural Science, Recreation and Leisure)
- At least one year of experience working with individuals that have developmental disabilities
- Must have experience dealing with challenging behaviors because of the possibility of working with aggressive clients
- Must have a valid G driver’s license
- Strong written and oral communication as well as problem-solving skills.
- Must have the ability to work as a team and independently
- French language is an asset

**Job Duties**

This position is for our Day Program services - our day services focus on empowering and enhancing the quality of life of each individual we support. The day program is similar to a class-room style environment - you will be assisting our individuals with indoor activities (such as arts and crafts, cooking, computer classes, etc.) and outdoor activities. You would be responsible for client supervision, personal hygiene, medication and documentation.
- To work hands on with individuals that have developmental disabilities and high support in daily needs in a Day Program and Community Centre environments.
- Responsible for liaison with other professionals and families
- Responsible for paper work, attending meetings and other related duties
- Responsible for transporting clients in company vans to outings and to/from programs
- Provide support in daily living as needed
