**Job purpose**

The CVITP Coordinator is responsible for the operation, promotion, and evaluation of the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, which provides free support to low-income individuals who require assistance preparing their annual CRA income tax forms.

The position oversees the recruitment, training, and scheduling of a Program Assistant and volunteer tax-filers. The position integrates financial literacy workshops and a skills-building components into the existing program, while establishing and monitoring the seasonal tax clinic. The Coordinator will oversee ongoing data collection and reporting of participant demographics and financial stats. The Program Coordinator will ensure a safe and positive experience for clients and volunteers.

Building on existing documentation and templates, the Coordinator will also be responsible for contributing to a ‘CVITP Toolkit with manuals, templates, and other materials, to enable national scalability of the program with SFBLC partners.

**Duties and responsibilities**

**Program Development**:

- Implement and refine program practices and protocol
- Research and develop financial literacy information for service users
- Engage with community resources to represent, discuss and / or establish collaborations, partnerships, or other services with a view to improve services to participants.

**Resource/Fund Development**:

- Support grant writing, proposals, and reporting related to Community Volunteer Income Tax Program
- Research funding opportunities

**Research, Analysis, Evaluation, Consultation**:

- Gather and analyze information to inform the design and delivery of the program
- Design and assist with program evaluation activities
- Contribute to the development of a ‘CVITP Toolkit with manuals, templates, and other materials, to enable national scalability of the program with SFBLC partners

**Program Coordination**:

- Train and supervise program volunteers as required
- Supervise day-to-day program activities
- Supervise Program Assistant

**Other Duties**:

- Contribute to an inclusive environment in which clients, staff, and volunteers are treated with respect.
- Other duties as required to contribute to the mission of the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre

**Qualifications**
- Preferred degree or diploma in the area of human services and/or program coordination/ management. Equivalent knowledge and experience will be considered.
- Computer skills are required
- Experience or willingness to learn about basic income tax rules and software
- Experience working in the community sector with diverse groups, including vulnerable populations
- Proven project management experience (budget, schedule/timeline, logistics, staff & volunteer management), including supervisory experience
- Multi-tasking, time management, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including cross-cultural awareness and understanding
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, listening, and communications skills
