Under the direction of the Principal Clerk, the Clerk B performs duties related to the procurement of goods and services, as well as account reconciliation and/or account distribution related to the equipment and material records with the Parks and Open Space Division. May also be responsible for reviewing data entered by Parks and Open Space Division personnel related to payroll/employee functions, the preparation and maintenance of labour, equipment, and material records, filing systems, and general office duties.

**As the **_Clerk B_** **you will**:

- Process invoices, purchase orders, and work orders; assign correct account distributions and obtain appropriate payment authorizations.
- Perform related month-end/year-end procedures.
- Process appropriate forms for completion by Human Resources and Finance and Administration.
- Verify all timekeeping information for division activities in various departmental and corporate computer systems.
- Maintain accurate records for filing system.
- Provide relief and coverage for a variety of clerical positions including Park Bookings.
- Perform other duties compatible with the position.

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- High school graduation supplemented with training in business and office procedures, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Previous experience with processing accounts payable.
- Familiarity with the City's purchasing procedures.
- Aptitude for mathematics.
- Demonstrated ability to work under mínimal supervision and exercise sound judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an organized manner, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to type at 40 w.p.m. (net).
- Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public in varying circumstances, both in person and over the phone.
- Ability to analyze reports and recognize anomalies in data.
- Ability to work under pressure, set priorities, organize work, and work in a team atmosphere.
- Ability to maintain effective, organized filing system.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good working relationship with other staff members.

- The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada. If the successful applicant possesses a work permit, it is their responsibility to ensure the permit remains valid.
- May be required to work evenings/weekend hours in emergent situations.
