**Title**:Social Media Content Creator

**Reports to**: Manager, Brand & Communications

**Status**: Full-time, 35 hours per week

**Location**:Variety Village, Scarborough, ON

their families. Variety is seeking an enthusiastic, goal-driven individual to join the team responsible for ensuring a

positive and safe experience for our members.

**Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager, Brand & Communications, the successful incumbent will work closely with

copywriting, design, and digital creation as well as someone who loves being on Camera and can represent

Variety as a Brand Ambassador on social media.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Collaborate with Manager, Brand & Communications to plan, write, create and publish content for

Variety’s audiences to support strategic and operational goals.
- Support Facility, Membership, Programs, Teams, Fundraising & Events with all communications needs

across social media platforms.
- Develop, implement, and manage our social media strategy and annual calendar.
- Create engaging visual content for diverse channels and stakeholders while maintaining brand standards

to grow our media presence.
- Create and manipulate video, a plethora of photography, social copy, memes/gifs, short clips, stories etc.
- Creating Reels, Stories, TikTok videos and, static content using in-app tools, services like Canva and or

Adobe Creative Suite.
- Briefing our team on creative needs, providing clear feedback on concepts, and drafting copy for content

on our channels.
- Act as a personality and engage with our audiences in a tone authentic to our brand.
- Comfortable on camera and being a brand ambassador for our social channels.
- Lead social media ads, contests and surveys.
- Measure, report, and assess the performance of all digital marketing campaigns against ROI and KPI goals.
- Continuously innovating by improving processes, testing new platform tools, and breaking creative

boundaries.
- Monitor, maintain and update social media pages and address public media inquiries and clients’ queries.
- Identify and flag new social media trends to the team and identify opportunities for the brand to insert

itself into timely topics/conversations.
- Join social media groups and professional platforms to discuss industry-related topics.
- Communicate with industry professionals and influencers via social media to create strong relationships

and build our network.
- Build and maintain a library of influencers and organizations affiliated with Variety’s strategic goals.
- Participating in company training that includes Health & Safety, AODA, and Plan to Protect.
- Participating in Variety’s Orientation program and adhere to established organizational policies and

protocols.
- Handling other duties as assigned.

**Key Competencies and Qualifications**:

- Post-graduate certificate/diploma/degree in marketing, social media and or digital marketing.
- Minimum 2+ years experience in a marketing, social media or content creator role within a fast-paced

environment, either agency or client-side.
- A passionate storyteller, strong interviewing skills, ability to ask effective questions and develop
- Critical thinking, decision making and problem-solving skills in a fast paced, complex and continually

changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills: You love building strong, collaborative working

relationships with your peers and partners.
- A strong knowledge of social media platforms from both a creative and technical perspective: you’re

aware of the latest algorithm changes, trends on TikTok and can post content confidently.
- An understanding of how to best optimize content across each platform.
- Experience with paid social media advertising.
- Excellent editing skills and attention to detail.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively or in a team setting.
- Capable of working without direct authority and with tact and good judgment to achieve results.
- Fluency in French and/or other languages is considered an asset.
- Must be capable of performing light physical demands which may be related to the job.
- Must be able and willing to work shifts, weekends and holidays. Flexibility with your time, understanding

that social media needs can sometimes occur after office hours.
