**Position Summary**:
The Coordinator of Educational Technology oversees best practices involving digital tools and integration of technology into pedagogical and practical classroom use. Both a big picture thinker and a hands-on implementer, the Coordinator of Educational Technology engages with administrators, educators and support personnel, parents and students to extend responsible and creative use of technology. The Coordinator must be a strategic thinker with strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, and the enthusiasm and credibility to create and sustain instructional momentum in the appropriate use of technology in the school’s curriculum and instruction. The Coordinator provides staff development opportunities to meet the diverse learning needs of staff as it relates to integrating technology into academic programming.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Connecting with teachers to develop technology-based/supported curriculum (Digital Citizenship, Digital Wellness, Exhibition, Educational Technology Integration)
- Ongoing training, education, and support for students and teachers on how to use school-based educational systems and hardware (Google Workspace, LOFT boards, Large format printer, Seesaw, The Hub, O365, ManageBac...)
- Developing, updating, and maintaining Student Learning Management Systems (Blackbaud, Microsoft, ManageBac, Google Classroom) and Student Learning ePortfolio Software (Seesaw)
- Develop and implement education technology (software/hardware) experiences for training and learning purposes
- Evaluation of current systems and educational technology platforms
- Chair of Technology Committee

**Skills and Attributes**
- Must be able to collaborate and cooperate with other departments
- Technical knowledge in the fields of computer science, computer education, and the broad range of technologies used in multimedia environments.
- Knowledge of the theory and practice of instructional technology.
- Substantial experience in working with students and educators in the instructional technology field, particularly at the junior school level.
- Knowledge of teaching and learning theory as they relate to the roles of technology in content and pedagogy.
- Demonstrated excellence in working with teachers to integrate technology in the classroom across the full range of academic disciplines and key stages.
- Demonstrated knowledge in IT functions, processes and capabilities (e.g. networking, security, infrastructure, information management, cloud technologies, etc.).
- Experience in project managing large scale technology roll-outs in corporate and /or educational environment.
- Knowledge of BC curriculum, curriculum development, and school reform.
- Familiarity with the Blackbaud product suite, Google Apps for Education, Microsoft, and Apple hardware.
- Some understanding of coding and computer programming fundamentals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Must be results-driven with the ability to set and meet ambitious targets. A broad general education and dedication to lifelong learning.
- A strong work ethic, high ethical standards, self confidence, and good time-management skills.
- To be a compassionate agent for change with skills in active listening and written and oral communications.
