**POSITION OVERVIEW**
Are you passionate about promoting local tourism and contributing to economic development? We're looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Tourism Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for developing the tourism economy in Maple Ridge, this includes community relations and promotional activities that support municipal tourism and related economic development programs. You will collaborate with team members to plan, develop, implement, and coordinate an overall program and policy for developing and promoting municipal tourism and related investments. Establish and maintain connections within the community, fostering relationships with local businesses. Working directly with existing and new potential businesses as well as coordinating marketing campaigns and creating diverse communications and promotional materials for various media platforms. Conduct research to identify, track, and evaluate marketing activities and initiatives. Prepare program reports and budget estimates to monitor performance effectively. Represent the municipality at events related to tourism and participate in various committees and boards.

Robust interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with experience in community relations, promotional work, and a good understanding of marketing campaigns and various media platforms are an asset.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline related to the work such as marketing, communications, commerce, recreation, tourism, or business administration, plus sound related experience, and preferably with an Economic Developer Certification (Ec. D.), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, techniques and equipment related to the work.
- Considerable knowledge of the policies, practices, rules and regulations governing the work.
- Considerable knowledge of the objectives, activities and requirements related to the work.
- Considerable knowledge of business English, spelling, style and grammar.
- Ability to assist a superior in planning, developing, implementing, and coordinating an overall program and policy for promoting municipal tourism and related economic development.
- Ability to establish and maintain ongoing relationships with a wide variety of businesses and community contacts, and to provide resources, information, and assistance to same in support of overall objectives.
- Ability to coordinate marketing campaigns and develop a variety of communications and promotional materials for various media platforms in collaboration with in-house or contract staff.
- Ability to perform market research, compile key performance indicators, track and evaluate activities and prepare reports and budget estimates to monitor performance.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

**LICENCES AND CERTIFICATES**
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia.
