Closures Technical Centre, a division of Magna International Inc., is focused on the design, development and testing of Mechatronics products for the automotive industry We are currently looking for a student in the Information Technology field for a 4 month co-op placement, starting on August 12, 2024.

**Your Responsibilities**:

- Installation of new and existent computers: desktops and laptops with Windows OS, Microsoft Office software packages
- Effectively use a disk imaging software to create computer images and deploy it onto new computers
- Help with the computer inventory; help with the physical disposal of old decommissioned hardware
- Maintain & upgrade all computer operating systems
- Performs user support (help-desk) related activities: user accounts, password expiry, basic Active Directory functions: file permissions
- Troubleshoot & solve network printer relates issues
- Help with network cabling patch panels
- Participate in troubleshooting computer network connectivity and connections to Magna WAN and the Internet
- Tests computer hardware and software for functionality and help with fixing minor hardware issues
- Observe and support IT security procedures in order to maintain and secure company proprietary data

**Who we are looking for**:

- Strong knowledge of Windows 7 Pro Operating System
- Knowledge of computer disk imaging software
- Good knowledge of MS Outlook 2013 E-mail client
- Good knowledge of Dell computer hardware
- Good knowledge of computer networking and familiar with the IP address and TCP
- Familiar with installation and configuration of MS SW products
- Windows Server OS knowledge is a plus
- Knowledge of Dell servers equipment is an asset
- Knowledge of Blackberry and other Smartphone OS’s and inter-operability is an asset
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Good communications skills: verbal, written
- Comfortable in providing first level of user support

**Your preferred qualifications**:
Working towards completion of a college diploma/university degree in information technology
