Direct Support Professional- Awake Overnights

Pertinent information
- We are currently looking for individuals for awake overnights in our residential program.

Current positions are 74 hours biweekly. Starting wage is $18.00 an hour which increases to $19.00 an hour after probation and 1 year.

Please be aware that we are not located in Winnipeg as we are approximately 40min from Beausejour and there is no public transportation available. A Manitoba drivers license and reliable vehicle is required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide direct care and support to individuals in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or private homes
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medication and monitor health conditions as directed by a nurse or healthcare professional
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Engage in social activities and provide companionship to promote emotional well-being
- Help with light housekeeping tasks and maintain a clean and safe environment
- Follow care plans and communicate any changes in the individual's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as senior care, dementia care, or hospice care is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals who may have physical or cognitive limitations
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with mínimal supervision
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or assignments
