**The Opportunity**:
As a Commercial Insurance Advisor for our Independent Business Unit in Salmon Arm, BC, you will interact with commercial clients, maintain professional business relationships with new and existing clients and insurers and manage an entire book of business for small business packages to primarily sell basic Commercial Insurance products. This role will allow you to explore and expand your insurance experience into the world of Commercial Insurance.

**What you will do**:
Effectively managing customer expectations

Answer telephones and assist clients with questions regarding their coverage

Communicate with company personnel regarding the client’s needs and/or problems

Understand agency rating system and company rating systems and websites

Negotiate with the underwriters from other insurance companies on rates and coverage

Follow-up on requested changes, renewals, etc. with insurance companies

Reviewing and analyzing claims and discussing with clients

Discussing & Explaining coverage to clients

Accounts receivable follow-up

New business and renewal sales presentations

Responsible for checking the accuracy of policies, endorsement, audits, etc. received from the insurance companies

**What you will bring**:
Level 2 Insurance License or willingness to obtain

Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency

Motivated to help support a diverse team and contribute in a team environment

Minimum of one year commercial insurance experience as an Insurance Advisor

Pro-active and a self-starter with a keen attention to detail

Strong customer service focus with the ability to deliver positive client experiences and meet their desired needs

Demonstrated ability to communicate (written and verbal), present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization

Works well in a fast paced, client-focused environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Industry designation is an asset (CIP, CAIB, CRM, General Insurance & Risk Management Diploma - BCIT)
