**FERRIS WHEEL PRESS** is a Canadian stationery company with a long history of design and craftsmanship and our mission is to create a new generation of stationery lovers. We value collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning, and we are looking for an HR Coordinator to join our team and help us support our employees' growth and development.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated **HR Coordinator** to oversee our onboarding, training, development, and performance management processes. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that new hires are smoothly integrated into our company culture, providing ongoing training and development opportunities to our employees, and managing our performance appraisal system to help our employees achieve their career goals.

**Our IDEAL CANDIDATE **is a stationery lover themselves and uses 2-3 notebooks simultaneously while owning several other backup notebooks that are still in the original packaging. They are quirky, like to read paperbacks, are always hosting friends at their house, authentic, and at some point secretly rubbed paper against their face to feel the texture.

**The JOB REQUIREMENTS**:
**1. Performance Management 25%**
- Conduct regular reviews with staff to monitor performance, alignment with company values, and training & development opportunities.
- Update and maintain records of employee performance, areas of improvement, and concerns.
- Work with managers to identify performance issues and develop improvement plans as needed.
- Administer the performance appraisal system, including setting up appraisal meetings, providing training to managers and employees, and tracking performance metrics.
- Create reports on employee performance and present findings to management.
- Develop and implement employee development plans to support career growth and development.
- Provide guidance and support to managers on performance management issues, including employee disciplinary action and termination.
- Ensure that all performance management practices comply with federal and provincial employment laws and regulations.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in performance management, and make recommendations to improve our processes and procedures.

**2. Employee Engagement 25%**
- Coordinate employee recognition and engagement initiatives including monthly celebrations and holiday celebrations.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Develop and implement employee retention strategies to reduce turnover and increase employee satisfaction.

**3. Recruiting, Hiring, and Talent Management 25%**
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
- Collaborate with team leaders to identify staffing needs and create job descriptions.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including coordinating orientation sessions and ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed and filed.
- Conduct exit interviews and provide feedback to management to improve the employee experience.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in recruiting and talent management, and make recommendations to improve our processes and procedures.

**4. Payroll & Benefits 25%**
- Coordinate with finance to ensure that monthly payroll is processed accurately and timely.
- Review any payroll related concerns with staff and team.
- Ensure that all performance management practices comply with federal and provincial employment laws and regulations.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in performance management, and make recommendations to improve our processes and procedures.

**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**
- Knows the difference between stationery/stationary, they're/there, your/you're, and hates it when someone gets it wrong
- Has at least 1 funny quirk about them
- Keeps a journal and a daily to-do list
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
