**Position Summary**
The RCMI is seeking an enthusiastic professional to take on the role of First Cook. This individual will strive to provide the highest level of food and beverage service to all staff, members and guests enhancing their overall experience in a very supportive environment. Here are some of our expectations for this position:

- Preparation, cooking and plating of all items at assigned station
- Detailed knowledge of staff meals, daily and weekly menu specials, as well as regular menu items.
- Ensure dishes are being prepared to the correct specifications, quantity & quality and are correctly seasoned
- Responsible for ensuring all food storage and culinary tasks are performed according to RCMI standards and safe food handling procedures
- Demonstrate a strict commitment to minimizing costs without compromising quality
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team and lead by example
- Flexibility to respond to changes in demands and address special requests for members on short notice
- Versatility to execute casual and fine dining experiences concurrently

**Job Requirements**
- Minimum of 5 years of diversified culinary experience in a fine dining/hotel/private club and/or banquet facilities
- Multi-tasker in a high paced environment
- Previous leadership skills required
- Excellent culinary tastes and artistic flair for creating unique meals and presentation
- Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills
- Computer proficiency in MS office and Jonas software an asset
- CCC and/or Red Seal an asset
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Physically able to perform functions of this job, including working on your feet throughout entire shift, working in a hot, humid, and demanding environment and physical tasks such as lifting (up to 50 lbs) etc.
