The Youth Programming Facilitator will participate in programs that are essential to the alleviation of poverty and homelessness and build healthy relationships between stakeholders in The Mustard Seed’s diverse community. This position will plan, schedule, and facilitate Rock the Nation youth programming at The Mustard Seed Community Impact Centres. Reporting to the Site Lead at Marlborough Park, they will help design and implement youth mentorship programming in alignment with the Rock the Nation grant agreement, fulfill the requirements of the grant, work closely with volunteers, and support the families of the youth attending the programs.

Position Type: Part time, Contract Role (24 hours weekly)
Location: Calgary
Number of Positions to Fill: 1

**MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Plan and implement meaningful weekly programming for youth and children
- Plan, coordinate and facilitate multiple 12-week programs for youth and children
- Mentor youth and support families through referrals
- Conduct evaluations of program and fulfill all requirements of the grant agreement with the funder
- Promote Mustard Seed programs to external organizations and agencies where appropriate
- Jointly organize activities with external and internal resources as needed
- Attend staff meetings and other training as required
- Other duties as assigned.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**
- Minimum of two years experience working with children, youth, or families
- Social Work or Behavioural Science degree would be considered an asset
- Empathy for the poor and a desire for greater understanding concerning poverty and justice issues in an urban center
- Passion and experience in working with youth, children, and families
- Self-starter who excels in organization of ideas, programs, time management, and problem-solving
- Strong computer, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Interest and skills in recreational activities is an asset
- Strong team building and leadership skills
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with a minimum of $2,000,000 liability insurance.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Working environment will include indoor and outdoor activities, office work on computer, lifting and some travel will be required
- Evenings and weekend hours are required to accommodate the hours of the Community Impact Centre's
- Physical and mental effort will be moderate
- Vulnerable Sector and Employment Security Check is required
