**Basic Function**: The Wellness Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of workplace wellness programs that focus on holistic dimensions of wellbeing. The Wellness Coordinator collects and provides and maintains data required for the promotion of human well-being across the organization (metrics). This position promotes awareness of and access to both internal and external services and supports for staff wellness. This position will assist and provide support in implementing the Strategic Plan.
**Responsibilities**:
- Oversees staff wellness initiatives and programs and monitors administrative activities for the same.
- Actively participates on various committees, including the Wellness Committee.
- Provides or administers training for staff relating to wellness programs and initiatives.
- Gathers and maintains statistics related to Wellness programs.
- Collect data to evaluate and assess the effectiveness of health and wellness programs; suggest and execute improvements as identified.
**Qualifications**:
- Must possess knowledge of:
- Psychological health and safety standards
- Holistic understanding of dimensions of wellbeing
- Knowledge of health and wellness topics
- Minimum three (3) years of professional work experience in wellness programming and/or education.
- Experience in a unionized environment an asset.
- Must have a proven record of being able to exercise discretion in the handling of confidential matters.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to lead and supervise.
- Must be knowledgeable in the use of computerized programs and systems, including Microsoft Office 365.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, along with strong communications skills.
- Must be able to work weekends, shifts and holidays.
- Must be able to deal with staff and public in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Must have basic knowledge of budget preparation and administration.
- Capable of meeting the physical demands of the position.
- Undergraduate Degree and/or Diploma in Health & Wellness, Community Services, Social Sciences, or Education related field or have the equivalent amount of training and related experience.
- Certificate in Adult Education an asset
- Suicide intervention certificate.
- Crisis intervention certificate.
- Trauma-informed training.
