In accordance with the Administrative and Professional Officer Agreement, this full time continuing position offers a comprehensive benefits package found at Faculty & Staff Benefits and annual salary range of $65,348 - $108,916.

**Position summary**
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Consultant, Faculty Infrastructure is responsible for supporting operational spaces and research infrastructure within the Faculty of Engineering (FoE).
This position will work closely with the Associate Dean, Research Infrastructure and Innovation (AD-RII), providing executive-level support to achieve the goals and objectives of the portfolio including the development of a long-term strategy for research infrastructure, optimizing the utilization of space assigned to Engineering, and supporting the development of shared resources and equipment to manage the future growth of Engineering’s students and staff.
This position is responsible for working with Facilities and Operations (F&O) and the Facilities Service Partner (FSP) to develop, implement, and execute the Faculty of Engineering’s capital program, infrastructure/asset management, and space planning and acts as primary conduit/advisor for the Dean of Engineering for matters pertaining to Facilities and Operations. The incumbent performs key leadership duties (identifying, analyzing, planning, organizing, influencing, etc.)
**Duties**
- Advisor / Influencer_
- Provide executive-level advisory support and guidance to the AD-RII, including the development and management of a long-term infrastructure strategy for the FoE.
- Identifies key issues and clarifies/defines problems. Uses compelling and well-researched arguments to convey recommendations, possible solutions, and new ideas.
- Space / Asset Advisor_
- Develop and maintain the space utilization dashboard; combining space occupancy data with research expenditures and other metrics important to evaluating and optimizing space utilization within Engineering.
- Support the Faculty Space & Infrastructure Committee (FSIC) which adjudicates occupancy decisions for research space within Engineering.
- Acts as a first point of contact for FoE faculty and staff regarding space/asset needs, questions, etc.
- Provides leadership & support in overall space management and optimization within the FoE. This includes participation in or leadership of various unit, department, Faculty, College, or University-wide committees and/or working groups.
- Liaises with Facilities and Operations (F&O), on behalf of the Faculty, to:
- implement, maintain, or evolve space planning, usage, and optimization strategies, practices, and policies (within the Faculty).
- coordinate (from the Faculty side) any space allocation (including office/lab relocation), maintenance, or development projects or proposals.
- Research Infrastructure Support_
- In collaboration with F&O, provides support and guidance to researchers within the FoE on research equipment and infrastructure, including but not limited to installation, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning.
