**Working for the Department/Faculty**

The Asset Information and Analysis unit is one part of the Integrated Planning, Development, and Partnerships department that supports the asset management and work management systems of Facilities & Operations. We enable team members across F&O to work more efficiently and effectively by managing and tracking facilities data within the portfolio.

**Position**

Reporting to the Director, Asset Information & Analysis, the Infrastructure Asset Specialist is responsible for the collection, management, and validation of infrastructure asset information for the University of Alberta from installation to removal of assets. The role is responsible for in-field verification, collection, tagging, and cataloguing of infrastructure assets across the U of A portfolio. In addition, the role will be tasked with contributing condition assessment information that inputs to the provincial deferred maintenance database.

The role will also be responsible for managing record drawings of asset locations, as well as maintaining the database of asset data including data quality validation and upkeep. This information, in tandem with the Trades Infrastructure Maintenance team will be used to develop and maintain the Preventive Maintenance program.

**Duties**
- Conducts in-field audits in buildings to validate and collect information on infrastructure assets. Also tags and catalogues new and missed equipment for addition to the infrastructure and asset inventory database.
- As part of the validation and collection of information, this role also documents and assesses asset and facility condition using visual inspection and investigation as well as creating cost estimates on the deferred maintenance liabilities associated with any requirements.
- Tracks and maintains the VFA deferred maintenance database by ensuring deferred maintenance requirements are added, closed, costed, or modified as per the latest facility and asset condition assessment data.
- Inputs, manages, and manages all asset data in the infrastructure asset inventory database to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the database.
- Works with the Facilities & Operations work management system AssetWorks AiM to manage asset data to ensure that the Preventive Maintenance program is both complete and running.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- 6+ years of directly relevant experience in building design, construction, operations & maintenance.
- P.Eng. or C.E.T. designation is required in good standing with APEGA/ASET.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, architectural and structural building systems, as well as knowledge of applicable maintenance standards and building code.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Must be proficient with AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Proven experience with cost estimation is a strong preference.
- Proven experience with work management or computerized maintenance management systems would be an asset.
- Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI) would be an asset.
- Strong problem solving abilities coupled with a natural curiosity towards process improvement are necessary for success.
- Ability to prioritize and adaptable while maintaining professional standards will be key to success.
