**IT Assistant Internship - Summer 2024**

Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Assistant will support the development and on-site operations of our Fellowship Training Camp hosted at Queen’s University as well as ongoing IT and data management activities. You’ll have a direct impact on Venture for Canada’s program offerings and event production. You’ll do this by embracing our learning and development offerings through teaching, hosting, or facilitating learning opportunities, running events, learning CRM and working closely with a range of cross-functional teams.

This is role is part of VFC's commitment to fostering work-integrated learning for Canadian students, in addition to gaining valuable hands-on experience, interns will also receive 1x1 mentoring from our Director of People Operations and Finance, receive a curated set of learning materials, and participate in professional development groups to further advance skill development. These skill development sessions will focus on relationship building, time management, objective based working styles, delegation, project planning and execution, working in small teams, and more

This is a contract position and employment is contingent on funding approval. Expenses, travel, and boarding in Kingston for Training Camp will be paid for by Venture for Canada.

**Please note, to be eligible for this position, you must**:

- **be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,**
- **have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations; and,**
- **be 30 years of age or younger at the time of the internship.**

**Skills**:

- Ability to work onsite at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario in May-June 2022;
- Project/event coordination;
- Experience with in-person and virtual presentation technology (ie. Zoom, Hopin, speakers, webcams, etc.);
- Proficient in Google Workspace;
- Knowledge of HubSpot/CRM is an asset;
- A proactive mindset and ready to lead initiatives where requested;
- Strong written, verbal-communication, and organizational skills;
- Independent research skills;
- Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills;
- Attention to detail for data organization, clean-up, and analysis;
- Driver’s license a must;
- Ability to work evenings and weekends during event weeks;
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Play a key role in the tech support and overall success of two major VFC events: the 2024 Fellowship Program Training Camp (a three-week residential leadership program in May-June 2024); and the 2024 Fellowship Cohort Graduation and Gala.
- These roles require the ability to work onsite at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario from mid-May to early June, 2024.
- VFC will provide accommodations, travel, and meal allowances while traveling for work.
- Work closely with VFC’s Community Events Lead to support the design and delivery of community events across VFC’s portfolio of youth-serving programming; specifically:

- Support the technology used to facilitate the events, including Zoom, live streams, speakers, and other presentation tools.
- Act as key technology troubleshooting support throughout the delivery of each event.
- Support with Hubspot audit and management
- Training will be provided to understand the CRM system
- Support with data entry to Hubspot with the most recent and accurate information.
- Documentation of processes (data and other)
- Support with documentation of in-house PMO processes including CRM, Tech, and M&E
- Liaise with other divisions within the organization and potentially external partners helping to coordinate data collection, management, and administration.
- Other operational tasks:

- Collect and complete administrative forms, reports, evaluation tools, and statistical information, as necessary
- Perform administrative duties including data entry, creating correspondence, taking notes, etc. as required;
