Under the supervision of the Clinical Program Manager, the Clinical Laboratory Manager will assist in building and developing a productive scientific team engaged in clinical research. The Clinical Laboratory Manager will also be responsible for the implementation of medium
- and long-term strategies to ensure a smooth operation of laboratory activities. You will be managing personnel in the laboratory (staff and students). You will work in close collaboration with clinical research specialists and the R&D team.

**Role and Responsibility, **including but not limited to**:
**_Responsibilities - Management_**
- Responsible to the day-to-day operation of the clinical laboratory, that includes maintaining up to date the lab planning schedule in term of analysis, cleaning, inventory, etc.;
- Manage the human resources in coordination with upper management and HR department (e.g., plan needs, interview, hiring, onboarding and evaluation processes);
- Implement training and development plans and ensure that personnel working in the clinical laboratory is adequately trained;
- Perform and track employees competency evaluations and performance reviews;
- Perform projects assignment;
- Plan needs for resources (spaces, equipment, etc.) to ensure high quality standard operations;
- Manage annual budget and forecast budgets for upcoming years;
- Ensure activities are performed according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Standard Procedures (SOP);
- Investigate and address issues arising during the performance of analysis;
- Be involved with external collaborators, associations, and regulatory agencies to discuss and to be aware of trends, opportunities, novelties and best practice in our field of activities;
- Communicate on research activities including internal monthly reports, scientific and technical reports, posters, presentations, manuscripts, etc.

**_Responsibilities - Operations_**
- Be trained and able to train any member of the team on molecular biology and immunology techniques used in the clinical lab, including but not limited to nucleic acids extraction, qPCR, ELISA, Luminex, etc.);
- Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs to deliver high-quality analysis;
- Ensure analysis are performed according to study requirements and approved protocols;
- Collaborate with the Clinical Research Specialists to provide inputs during the development of clinical trials for potential biomarkers and analysis of interest;
- Collaborate with the R&D Team to plan, validate and implement methods of analysis for the clinical laboratory;
- Accurately performs and interprets data and results using theoretical knowledge and independent judgment in addition to established protocols, techniques and equipment manuals;
- Track inventory and ensure efficient allocation of resources;
- Monitor sample, lab and equipment conditions (certifications, calibration, maintenance, storage, inventory, etc.).

**_Requirements_**
- M.Sc. in Sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, etc.);
- At least three (3) years of pertinent clinical laboratory experience with molecular biology (including nucleic acids extraction and qPCR) and possibly with Probiotics;
- Previous experience (3 years) in management is required;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed for interaction with all members of laboratory team and of upper management;
- Knowledge of guidelines and regulations regarding Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and clinical trial regulations;
- Ability to write scientific reports and excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French;
- Attention to detail;
- Possess excellent organization, project management and critical thinking skills;
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and able to manage priority;
- Previous experience with Flow Cytometry is an asset;
- Previous experience with LIMS solution (ex. eLabNext) is an asset;
**_Work conditions_**
- Hybrid mode: Work from home/lab based;
- 37.5/hours per week from Monday to Friday;
- Salary according to experience + annual Bonus;
