Why is this role important?
- The Pharmaceuticals Program Lead will support the Manager, Data Development, plan and execute on the CIHI Pharmaceuticals Roadmap with a core focus on an All Drugs All People data foundation. This will include stakeholder engagement, project management, planning, costing, feasibility and readiness assessments of provincial and territorial drug information systems, drugs for rare disease, cancer drugs and drugs administered in hospital. This position will support the Manager of Pharmaceuticals Data Development to ensure the National Prescription Drug Utilization Information System is leveraged and optimized as the foundation of the broader data advancement approach to meet broader stakeholder information needs.
- There are three opportunities in the following areas: Project and Stakeholder Management, Standards and Development, and Drugs for Rare Diseases.
- What you'll do
- Lead the development and planning of initiatives in the execution of CIHI’s Pharmaceutical Roadmap for an “All Drugs All People” data foundation.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff and matrix teams. Supervises, coaches, coordinates and monitors work, workload and performance of staff to ensure that quality is maintained and that learning opportunities are provided. Conducts annual performance management reviews.
- Provide regular progress reports to Manager on advancements, risks and opportunities associated with the planning and development of initiative that help further the Pharmaceutical Roadmap
- Participate in creating the costing and feasibility assessments for data advancements for an “All Drugs All People” data foundation consistent with CIHI’s Pharmaceutical Roadmap and CIHI broader strategic goals.
- Facilitate collaboration with other CIHI teams by initiating and/or participating in meetings to support corporate initiatives aligned with CIHI’s strategic plan and corporate analytical plan. Works collaboratively with Pharmaceuticals Operations team.
- Contribute to the promotion of CIHI Pharmaceutical products and services through participation on external committees, presentations and/or attendance at conferences and other activities, as required.
- Assume other related responsibilities as required.
- What you'll bring to the table
- Master’s degree in health sciences, social sciences, health information, health policy, administration or other relevant field, or equivalent combination of experience/education.
- 3-5 years’ experience working with health information.
- 3 years of supervisory experience with a strong record of successful team engagement and project management.
- Awareness and understanding of Canada's post-market pharmaceuticals environment, key organizations, and pharmaceutical data assets across the country.
- Experience in managing multiple complex projects. Strong organizational and time management skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
- Detailed awareness and understanding of Canada's broader health system structure, as well as issues and policies relevant to health information.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement, client support and communications planning and implementation in the health sector is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, facilitation and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of other CIHI data holdings and external data sources.
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively within a matrix team.
- Ability to meet travel requirements.
- Fluency in English is required, bilingualism is an asset.
