**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Supervisor of Traffic Operations the incumbent is responsible for:
- Daily monitoring of guards in the field to ensure staff following Town procedures, Highway Traffic Act regulations, and Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations. Initiates corrective action as required.
- Assisting with staff recruitment.
- Train and re-train new and existing crossing guards;
- Conducting formal performance reviews of all staff at their assigned locations; performing site inspections and submitting incident reports.
- Data collection, records maintenance, attendance tracking, inventory management and equipment delivery.
- Provide occasional coverage for vacant crossing locations as required;
- Provide coverage for the Senior Crossing Guard Coordinator including scheduling spare guards, when required.
- Clerical duties, such as filing, copying, ordering prints and preparing mail-outs;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Grade 12 diploma, with some post-secondary education an asset.
- Advanced computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and the ability to learn/efficiently use new computer programs, are required.
- Experience as a crossing guard, working at all types of crossing locations would be a benefit.
- Minimum two years experience in a supervisory role or related experience.
- Applicants must be conscientious, dependable and able to work in a diverse environment.
- Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Highway Traffic Act and Town policies is also required.
- Must be team-oriented and able to work independently, with mínimal supervision.
