**Summer Camp Leader - Canada Summer Jobs**

The Excellerix Summer Camp is a unique blend of academic enhancement and fun activities engaging children for 6 weeks of fun in the arts, cooking, theatre, music, sports and much more based in Surrey. We are looking for camp leaders that are energetic, responsible, and dependable individuals who would like to contribute and make difference in the lives of children ages 6-12 years old. These positions are funded through Canada Summer Jobs.

Qualifications:

- Must be 19 years and older with a High School Diploma
- 6 months to a year experience working in a day camp or related setting (required).
- Plan and implement age-appropriate quality program activities and out trips for children ages 6-12 years old.
- Demonstrated experience working with children in the 6-8 age range, 9-12 age range.
- Ability to supervise and look after the safety of children.
- Ability to adhere to instructions and follow through with assigned tasks.
- Ability to create fun and engaging children’s activities and games.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated administrative skills in program planning, word processing and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Ability and willingness to work with children from diverse backgrounds.
- Offer positive guidance and be a positive role model to the children.

Licence/Certification
- Emergency First Aid and CPR-C
- ECE or ECEA or Responsible Adult Course (preferred)
- Hi5 Program Training Course Certificate (required)
- Satisfactory criminal record check (required)

**Hours of work**
- Contract date: July 4, 2023 - August 15, 2023 (this could be extended for another week)
- Monday
- Friday full time for 35 hours a week

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required
