The Client Services Data Specialist participates in departmental initiatives and improvements to workflows and systems. Significant responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues to identify, fix and document data issues within existing systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees data analysis for both corporate and departmental projects.
- Engages with clients to facilitate a data comparison and oversees discrepancy reconciliation.
- Analyzes, collects, sorts and creates testable electronic data. Participates in testing.
- Creates edit checks for internal and external data and performs validation of information.
- Handles complex data requests, reports and predictive data modeling.
- Recommends and implements data automation tools.
- Increases the accuracy and quality of data that is tracked, monitored and analyzed for both internal use and client reporting. Provides quality assurance with respect to data input into Client Services systems.
- Compiles and interprets raw data and translates it into usable formats and reports. Implements and prepares productivity reporting.
- Oversees departmental data retention, management of files and scanning policies.
- Assists in training on all new data entry and provides training on procedures and processes. Responsible for SharePoint learning and development.
- Completes mail merges as required.
- Participates in the coordination, communication, implementation, and rollout of system enhancements. Communicates with stakeholders across the organization on projects and initiatives.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of procedure manuals and user documentation for all Client Services System functions for use by Client Services staff, translating complex policies, procedures, and system terminology into easily understandable formats.
- Participates as a member of various project teams for corporate and department projects. Prepares, attends, and participates in meetings with both internal and external customers.
- Identifies opportunities for process efficiency improvement in the Client Services areas and recommends process changes as appropriate.
- Investigates issues pertaining to Client Services and recommends solutions.
- Assists the Client Services Supervisor with annual objectives.
- Provides back-up to other Client Services positions when necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Dedicated to the principles of exceptional service, committed to responding to, anticipating, and addressing customer needs, for both internal and external customers.
- Post secondary degree, certificate, or diploma in Business Administration or related field. An equivalent combination of education and 2-3 years’ experience in the insurance industry will be considered.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Resolves problems logically and evaluates the consequences of alternative solutions to a question or problem to select the most appropriate solution.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels within the organization in a team environment.
