Data Scientist would be involved in assessment of new data system requirements and implement ML models. Build large scale data processing and distributed systems and more.

Your future duties and responsibilities
- Build large scale data processing and distributed systems using technologies like Spark/Kafka.
- Examine new data system requirements and implement machine learning models.
- Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data.
- Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems.
- Educate staff members through training and individual support.
- Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or relevant field.
- Has at least 8+ years of experience being a Data scientist.
- Has at least 7 years of experience with Machine Learning. (NLP, text extraction and analytics)
- Experience in building large scale data processing and distributed systems using technologies like Spark/Kafka
- Experience with SQL / NoSQL databases (including stored procedures)
- Expertise with Object Oriented programming: Java / Python
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities with demonstrable problem-solving ability.

**Other requirements to be successful in this role**:

- Must have worked in Banking or Financial services domain.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

One must have authorization to work in Canada.
Position is based in Atlantic Canada and one must be willing to be based out of anywhere in Atlantic Canada.
