**Position Summary**

The Outreach Program Coordinator (OPC) is a visionary project manager who is eager for the opportunity to be involved in the development, implementation, evaluation, and ongoing support of a new housing outreach program. This program will meet our unhoused and insecurely housed neighbours where they are to improve access to resources and provide lifesaving connections. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, training, and supervision of a team of Outreach Workers. The coordinator may provide interventions such as assisting with care plan development or providing education on creating individualized care plans that are realistic and sustainable. The OPC will provide oversight of the program budget, develop and oversee program goals and objectives, and collaborate with internal and external partners.

The Outreach Program Coordinator reports to the Truro Housing Outreach Society’s Operations Manager.

This position may include weekend and evening shifts.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

Program Management
- Plan, implement, and evaluate Outreach programs and activities.
- Develop and monitor program goals and objectives.
- Prepare program reports and make presentations concerning program activities, goals and objectives.
- Participate in the development and administration of program budgets. Monitor program expenses and identify resolutions for budgetary issues.
- Meet with service providers and agencies to facilitate service and resource opportunities for clients; establish and maintain effective relationships with all government and community agencies regarding programs and services.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Work to uphold THOS’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

Staff Leadership
- Participate in the hiring and training of the Outreach Team.
- Provide supervision to the Outreach Team including scheduling, approval of work hours for payroll, and job performance monitoring.
- Engage in conflict resolution to resolve personnel issues as they arise.

Client Management
- Ensure that clients’ right to privacy is maintained and ensure appropriate level of confidentiality.
- Act as a representative for the Outreach Team, and advocate for clients in weekly case meetings.
- Review and approve funding requests from the Outreach Team.
- Collaborate with the Outreach Team in creating comprehensive care plans, unique to each client and reviewed regularly.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Education and Certifications:_
- Bachelor’s Degree in social services or related field.
- Minimum five years experience in case management, social service delivery, quality improvement, or program development.
- Minimum two years experience in supervisory position.
- Knowledge Bases & Experience:_
- Knowledge & experience in feminist leadership and management principles.
- Knowledge and experience in human resource, financial, and project management.
- Knowledge of current challenges for unhoused community members.
- Knowledge in the field of gender-based violence considered an asset
- Interpersonal and Applied Skills:_
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable working with people in distress and witnessing challenging situations.
- Dependable, conscientious, trustworthy, empathetic, resilient and goal-oriented.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to unforeseen circumstances.
