The role is to fill under LBC Tech a subsidiary of the Laurentian Bank. The role can be performed anywhere in Canada

**Responsibilities**:
º Contact Financial Advisors/ clients from their assigned arrears accounts to make suitable repayment options to bring the loan out of delinquency.

º Probe Financial Advisor/ client for reason for arrears to understand clients financial situation to ensure that cure solutions are suitable for the client and Laurentian Bank.

º Create and mail out the necessary Collection letters to support their collection efforts.

º Follow-up on promises to pay to ensure they are kept by the client. Action accordingly in case of broken promises.

º Ensure notes and actions are placed on the account for each client contact.

º Complete appropriate recommendations for loan impairment and write-off in accordance with Laurentian Bank Collection policy.

º Create Proof of Claims for insolvent accounts and mail out to Trustee or send to appropriate Third Party Vendor.

º Provide timely responses to requests from Laurentian Bank Third Party Vendors for information or documents to support recovery efforts.

º Ensures the maintenance of collections and arrears reports, and the prompt handling of customer correspondence and messages.

º Maintains a high level of product knowledge in order to provide professional and courteous guidance to clients.

º Keeps informed and up-to-date to various legislation, procedures, standards and policies related to the products and services offered by Laurentian Bank.

º Submits recommendations to improve work processes to Collection Management.

º Carries out any other similar or general task at the request of their Management team that may be required by their function.

**Qualifications**:
º University Degree in business or a related field, with 1 to 2 years of related experience.

or

º College Diploma in business or a related field and 3 to 5 years of related experience.

º University degree or College diploma in Business Administration, or in a related field.

º Successful completion of Credit Management courses or designation through the Credit Institute of Canada is an asset.

º 2 years of work experience related to lending and collections with a bank or trust company.

º Ability to use initiative and good judgment in a decisive but fair manner in order to resolve delinquent situations.

º Results oriented, diplomatic, and adept at building customer relations.

º Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.

º Ability to work closely with others in a team-oriented environment.

º Strong written and verbal communication skills.

º Knowledge of financial services industry and lending products.

º Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Outlook a must; familiarity with using large and complex financial database systems; ability to learn inquiry functions in back office processing systems.

º Bilingual French/English is an asset.
