Global Practice Lead for Risk - Hybrid R0034431

Job Description Summary:
Accountable for the performance and results of multiple related consulting departments or areas. Provides leadership and guidance to managers, supervisors, and/or high-level professionals based on organizational goals, company direction, general policies, and management guidance. Assists with the direction of a team that provides external clients with objective strategic advisory services to improve organizational performance and long-term competitiveness. Oversees designs, implementation, and delivery of business performance/improvement programs in areas such as customer relationship management, business process reengineering and business performance improvement. May advise clients on strategic projects such as strategy development, transformational change, organization restructuring and improving the effectiveness of specific functions based on a solid understanding of client businesses, industries, regulatory environments, and markets. Consults with client organizations to successfully navigate through critical businesses changes and address complex issues. Oversees the creation of statement of work (SOW), client pricing, project timelines and deliverables to ensure client objectives are being met. May oversee consulting work at customer sites in the absence of or as a supplement to billable consultants. Develops departmental plans, including business, production, operational and/or organizational priorities. Controls resources and contributes to policy formation. Develops and subsequently implements new projects, policies, and procedures to meet goals. Contributes to the development of functional strategy. Has a team of at least three WK employees.

Basic Function:
The Global Practice Lead for Risk - Professional Services is a global role supporting strategic professional services projects, both internal and customer focused as well as leading all aspects of the practice for risk

The Global Practice Lead for Risk is an expert in their field with know-how of executing risk implementations and can help drive the business forwards.

Job Qualifications (Minimum):

- Education: Master's degree in Economics, Business Economics, Business Engineering and/or specialization in Banking and Finance.
- Travel: Ability and willingness to travel
- Experience: Financial Risk Management experience: minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with banking fin-tech solutions or within the baking industry
- Thorough understanding of financial instruments mechanics and valuation (Loans, Bonds, Options, Swaps, etc.)
- Profound expertise in one or more of the following areas: ALM, Liquidity Risk, Market Risk, FTP, Credit Risk, Capital Adequacy, Monte-Carlo Simulations, Basel III/IV
- Experience in software implementation projects is mandatory
- Experience in delivering consultancy, training and presentations to external parties is required
- Technical (database, SQL, Java) knowledge is a plus, the willingness to gain knowledge in this area is a must.
- Demonstrated excellence in a variety of competencies including teamwork/collaboration, analytical thinking, communication and influencing skills, and technical expertise.
- This is a Hybrid role and must be legally authorized to work in Canada

Preferred Experience Knowledge, Skills, or Certifications (Minimum):

- Experience: FRM/PRM/CFA certifications would be a plus
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with the OneSumX for Risk software would be a plus
- Written and oral fluency in both English is mandatory, all other languages are a plus
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills — can make quality decisions in a timely manner.
- Possesses strong conflict resolutions skills.
- Excellent ability to effectively cope with change and shift gears comfortably.
- Strong ability to thrive in a fast-paced, self-managing, team-based, dynamic environment.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

- Lead for Risk on key strategic programs
- Taking the lead from a business, technical, functional and domain perspective, starting at pre-sales, and extending into project implementation
- Coordinating all activities with internal and external stakeholders to ensure success
- First point of contact and Community Leader for Risk within Global Professional Services:

- Guide consultants regarding topics within Risk, documenting and sharing knowledge across the team, ensuring best practices and methodologies are being followed.
- Take initiative on proposing project efficiencies and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments within Wolters Kluwer to ensure professional services are ready to deploy new products/releases/features, training materials are up-to-date, and there is a full understanding and input into the product roadmap
