Agropur believes that sustainability is a key issue. Our Cooperative is committed to supporting the dairy industry’s efforts to minimize our environmental footprint, in particular through our Sustainable Farms program. Advancing our commitments to sustainability will require new strategies that address priority issues, and additional support for our dairy producer members and the Canadian dairy industry. Reporting to the Cooperation Director, the **Sustainable Agriculture Advisor** works with a multidisciplinary team, using their expertise to develop and coordinate the implementation of the member support program for agri-environmental farming practices, based on current knowledge and industry guidelines.

More specifically, the incumbent:

- Identifies objectives and proposes ways to develop and implement environmentally responsible farming initiatives with members of the Cooperative, and deploys tools to evaluate, measure and monitor the evolution of performance indicators.
- Provides advice and training on best environmental practices on the farm in order to develop and maintain expertise within the Cooperation Department and among its Cooperative Advisors. Supports the Cooperative Advisors and members of the Cooperative in implementing such practices.
- Organizes creates content, coordinates, and facilitates members’ meetings and other programs relating to environmental issues.
- Contributes to Cooperative communications on Sustainable Farms, writing content in collaboration with other departments.
- Helps members obtain financial assistance or grants to implement projects that promote Sustainable Farms objectives.
- Represents the Cooperative, in collaboration with other departments, for projects related to Canadian environmental farming standards and practices, and ensures that the standards are integrated and monitored by Agropur.
- Supports the Cooperative’s initiatives concerning these issues with other partners from the Canadian dairy industry.
- Collaborates with other departments to implement the Cooperative’s sustainability strategy.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, with a specialization in environment or sustainability.
- Postgraduate degree in a field related to sustainability, an asset.
- Member of the _Ordre des agronomes du Québec _(or eligible to obtain).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in implementing sustainability or environmental initiatives and performance measures in the agricultural sector.
- Good command of general computer tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, and an aptitude for learning new software.
- Bilingual, French and English, spoken and written (Spanish considered an asset).
- Available to work extended hours, when required.
- Must be available to travel within Agropur members’ regions (Quebec and Eastern Canada).
