The investor relations program includes, but is not limited to investor relations strategies, investor and analyst relationships, investor communication, investor relations best practices, internal investor and equity market reporting, and special projects related to investor relations and equity markets. Additionally, the Manager, Investor Relations is a member of the broader Corporate Finance team and participates in corporate finance initiatives and projects as required and where their expertise and experience will bring value and/or mentorship.
**What You Get To Do**:
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and information providers, key external investors, brokers, and analysts. In conjunction with the wider Investor Relations team, serve as a point of contact for external investors, brokers and analysts.
- Assist in the development of investor relations strategies and support the execution of those strategies to ensure that the ATCO Group is fairly and accurately represented to external stakeholders (including, but not limited to, investors).
- Assist with the planning and implementation of investor events, including annual meetings, investor conferences, road shows and on-site meetings to ensure the company maintains positive relationships with its investor base and the analyst community.
- Actively work with investors, brokers, and analysts to ensure these external stakeholders appropriately interpret publicly available information about the ATCO Group.
- Respond to special requests from other groups within the larger ATCO Group of Companies.
- Assist in the development of key messages and speaking points for external communication with investors.
- Lead the development and preparation of internal reports on the investor base, peer analysis, sell-side analyst estimates, changes in share performance and overall markets.
- Lead the maintenance and on-going improvement of the investor relations section of the website.
- Ensure accurate and timely responses to requests for materials and information.
- Advise on the alignment of contemplated messaging within the Business’ public company documents to ensure consistency with strategic messaging being utilized within Investor Relations.
- Review and provide feedback on press releases, with an objective of maximizing value in the market and reinforcing in-market strategic messaging.
- Conduct ad hoc corporate finance research to support ongoing corporate initiatives.
- Prepare ad hoc financial analysis, draft memos and prepare presentation(s) for the CFO’s office.
- Maintain an understanding of the ATCO Group’s strategic and financial objectives, and performance targets.
- Maintain an understanding of current market conditions.
- Log investor and analyst outreach interactions in the investor relationship database system. Analyze this data to identify opportunities to improve investor outreach plans.
- Collaborate with the Communications Group on investor communication strategy, including key messages, consistency of messages and efforts, product sharing and support for strategic communication.
- Oversee the administration of the investor relations inbox in conjunction with the larger IR team. Ensure timely responses to investor inquiries.
- Act as a liaison with external service providers on investor relations activities.
**Who You Are**:
- A bachelor’s degree in commerce or business with a Major in Accounting or Finance discipline is an asset.
- Advanced certifications such as CPA, CFA and/or CBV. Advanced skills with NASDAQ, Bloomberg, Capital IQ.
- Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in a related job. Demonstrated experience in developing and improving investor relations initiatives. Experience working with senior executives and external stakeholders. Experience in the utility and energy industries preferred.
- Significant financial, accounting and investor relations knowledge and experience.
- Solid financial and capital markets knowledge. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Strong business acumen with an ability to identify and communicate key business drivers and anticipate investor interests and potential areas of concern.
- Strong attention to detail matched with high standards when creating material for internal and external audiences.
