Driver Recruitment and Retention Manager

Penner International a long-haul trucking company, based out of Steinbach, Manitoba is hiring for the newly created position of **Driver Recruitment and Retention Manager**.**

You will be responsible for executing daily tasks including recruiting, interviewing, on-boarding, and creating a positive business environment for long-term retention of company drivers and owner operators. A background in trucking is an advantage, but not a requirement.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Communicate with potential new hires about the benefits of being a Company Driver or Owner Operator for Penner International
- Develop and oversee recruiting or referral programs
- Assist with managing advertising for Driver recruiting
- Interview applicants to determine if their skill set matches Penner’s requirements
- Develop and maintain a full understanding of the local driver labour market.
- Pre-qualify new hires
- Administer orientation for new hires including communicating of onboarding and retention policies
- Provide a regular report on current recruitment efforts.
- Attend career fairs and other driver recruiting opportunities, as well as stay informed about upcoming events such as these.
- Other duties will be assigned as needed

**REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Sales or recruiting experience
- Trucking or transportation experience a plus
- Ability to motivate others
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
- Strong prioritization skills, multi-tasking skills, ability to know how to operate with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Knowledge of Transportation/Logistics a plus
- Analytical skills
- Leadership skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and has a positive attitude
- Background in Human Resources/Recruiting, a plus

**Salary**: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
