**Your Opportunity**:
Working as an Early Childhood Intervention Program - Infant Child Development Specialist (ICDS) you will be delivering primary health services to children with two or more areas of developmental delays or diagnosed disabilities, aged birth to three-and-a-half years old in the community. Duties include screening, assessment, education, treatment, advocacy, resource finding, consultation, and discharge planning. The ICDS acts as a lead facilitator, coordinating services and coaching parents to learn about strategies to enhance their child's developmental needs. ICDS provides virtual and in-home parent and child support, community-based child and parent intervention groups, and liaison with other services and agencies. The Early Childhood Intervention Program serves the Edmonton Zone, an ICDS may be required to work from many AHS sites (e.g. Duggan Health Center, Spruce Grove Health Center, West Jasper Place Health Center, etc.) throughout the Edmonton Zone on a regular basis.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of bachelor's degree in Child & Youth Care or a related field or equivalent education and experience.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Extensive knowledge/training in early child development. Extensive knowledge of community resources and knowledge of the health care system. Two years minimum experience working in community/in-home settings supporting children and families. Ability to be self-directed and to effectively work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in clinical and virtual settings. Must possess strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated problem solving, planning and organization skills. Experience working in collaboration with community partners and program development. Must demonstrate a strong patient/family-centered approach to care. A high degree of cognitive effort is required related to prolonged clinical decision making. In a community setting, there are occasionally some physical demands with transporting equipment, therapy materials (20-50 lbs) or bending and/or rotation related to clients or therapeutic intervention. The ECIP may sit for long periods of time. Initiative and ability to work independently in clinical and virtual settings. Access to own vehicle. Ability and willingness to travel to a number of community sites and client homes as required.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Preference will be given to applicants with recent experience and/or familiarity with community agencies involved with the target population of clients in Early Childhood Intervention Programs or complex pediatric care. Experience working with interdisciplinary teams. Experience working in collaboration with community partners. Experience working with an Electronic Medical Record, e.g., Meditech, is considered an asset. Must possess a sound understanding of the determinants of health.
