Edmonton, Canada Crystal Kids Youth Centre Full time

Crystal Kids Youth Centre is a drop-in after-school youth centre, serving marginalized and at-risk youth ages six to nineteen. We provide critical mentoring, life-skills, literacy, nutrition, arts and crafts, cultural connection, physical activities, and wellness support. Our programs are child-centric; Our service delivery is intentionally individualized to suit the needs of each child. We operate utilizing a strengths-based approach paired with a harm-reduction model within a trauma-informed and relational care milieu. Crystal Kids Youth Centre has been a CRA Registered Charity since April 1993, and we are a City of Edmonton Not-For-Profit organization.

Providing excellent client-centered care utilizing a strength-based approach and a harm-reduction model. Demonstrating intentionality in practice. Displaying passion and motivation to provide the highest level of relational care for marginalized and vulnerable children and youth.

Key Responsibilities:

- Engage in wellness support, with key emphasis on physical and mental health issues.
- Engage in positive role modeling in the place of inconsistent and absent positive adult role models.
- Supporting youth in building resilience and skills to deal with various issues they may face in daily life.
- Navigate various avenues of preventing food insecurity and promoting healthy eating habits for our youth.
- Provide learning opportunities and support youth struggling to adapt to the demands of the education system.
- Advocate for youth that are members of the LGBTQ2+ community and provide a safe environment for all our youth.
- Provide a safe environment for youth to express their cultural identity and support youth to embrace same.
- Adapt to individual youth needs and support them through potential layered trauma that may exist.
- Where necessary provide legal and emotional support for youth that may require same.

Educational Requirements:

- Preferably a degree in Child and Youth Care and/or Social Work.
- Diploma and work experience equivalencies considered.

Other Key Requirements:

- Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Clear Child Welfare Intervention Check

**Salary**: $17.00-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
