Children’s Centre Thunder Bay works together with families, caregivers and a community of partners to make a real difference in the quality of life of children and youth. We are an accredited, not-for-profit organization providing treatment and support services for children and youth, from birth to 18 years, who are experiencing behavioural, emotional, developmental or social difficulties. The Centre is currently seeking to fill the following position:
One Part Time Supervised Access Worker
Union Position - Part Time Variable Hours

**Salary**: $22.07 - $26.85 per HOUR
15% IN LIEU OF BENEFITS

**Responsibilities**:
The Supervised Access Worker carries out duties as a member of the Supervised Access team at the Children’s Centre Thunder Bay. The primary responsibility includes the direct supervision of children and their parents and/or other family members during scheduled access visits or exchanges on site. Documentation of factual observations during supervised access visits and exchanges in a professional and objective manner is a critical component of this position. The Supervised Access Worker is also expected to participate in team meetings where case discussions, program information and updates on clients may be shared. Other assigned duties of the Supervised Access Worker may include: completion of intake interviews, scheduling of access visits/exchanges, responding to service inquiries, involvement in program promotion and public relations.

Qualifications:
The Supervised Access Worker position requires:

- A minimum of a diploma in the social or human services field from a recognized and accredited college
- 2 years experience within the field of children’s mental health, child welfare or other related field of practice
- Knowledge of the range of theories applicable to the children's mental health field
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Must be available for Evening and Weekends
- Experience working with aboriginal people is an asset
- Ability to speak French and/or Ojibway is a desired attribute
