Welland, Canada Niagara Health System Full time

Reporting to the Manager, Occupational Health & Safety, the successful incumbent will provide clerical and analytical support for non occupational work related absence. The successful incumbent additional responsibilities will include: providing administrative support in a team-focused environment, maintaining an efficient and confidential record keeping system.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-secondary diploma in business administration, human resources or equivalent in related experience.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience with administrative support, short term and long term disability in an occupational health and safety environment
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and safety Act, Attendance Management, the Regulated Health Professions act, Ontario Human Rights Code, FIPPA, PIPEDA, and other relevant legislation and regulations
- Experience with Parklane computer systems, and short term and long term disability non occupational processes
- Knowledge of and experience with return to work and accommodation principles
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and manage a high volume of work and competing demands for time
- Strong ability to simplify, organize and communicate information in a clear and concise manner
- The ability to interact effectively with a diverse population at all levels, with cultural sensitivity
- Negotiation skills including the ability to build on common ground, and interact positively with individuals that may be frustrated and/or upset
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to make timely decisions based upon sound analysis, experience and judgment
- Valid driver's license and access to vehicle for multi-site hospital travel
- Consistent and regular attendance required
- Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
- Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
