Lonza Kingston is immediately hiring a QC Assistant for a 12-month contract. As a member of the Quality Team, the QC Assistant assists the Quality Control Technicians in ensuring that components and products used in the finished assembled product adhere to the specification and criteria.

Key responsibilities:

- Assist quality inspector on-site with day-to-day tasks;
- Use hand tools (e.g. screwdriver) and power tools (e.g. drill) when needed;
- Handle and transport materials (e.g. metal parts) between locations;
- Follow instructions and perform manual labor tasks (e.g. plugging holes as preparation to sub-processing);
- Maintaining a clean work environment;
- Report unsafe conditions

Key requirements:

- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (using handheld and power tools to perform the job, sitting for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc.)
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Familiarity with power tools
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety rules
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Strong sense of initiative, autonomy and resourcefulness
- On-the-job training will be provided
