Sun Life is embarking on a multi-year transformation to a Digital Enterprise. We are moving to a new way of working, bringing Business, Digital Technology and Operations closer together in delivering Client value.

**This Agile Coach role would be ideal for either**:

- ** Agile Coach or a Senior Scrum Master **who can clearly demonstrate Agile coaching skills and competencies with real-world work experience in this capacity** - not just theory, courses, or an academic certification.**:

- ** An Agile Coach with 1 to 2+ years of experience in a full Agile Coach role who would like to make a greater impact through influence, contributing to the coaching strategy and strong execution skills**:

- ** An Agile Coach who has experience working with multiple teams/squads and can juggle the demanding role of developing new-to-agile practitioners and supporting their growth**:

- ** A strong communicator who possess effective communication and presentation skills**

With deep hands on experience in Scrum, Kanban and/or Scaled Agile methodologies, the Coach will help mobilize and develop Agile teams and support the organizational change necessary for sustained Agile success. They are an active member of the Agile community helping to grow a sustaining, thriving Agile community in the organization.

**The Agile Coach is an expert in Agile Practices**. They are responsible for providing coaching, training, mentoring, impediment management, and leadership to facilitate collaboration, development consistency, and value delivery across multiple teams and departments. They will also train teams to resolve impediments and shift mindset and behaviors. They are expert facilitators and know how to shift between Coaching and Training stances. They will act as role models by demonstrating the right mindset including a test and learn attitude, a bias for action, a passion to innovate and a willingness to learn.

**What will you do?**
- Act as an Agile champion for Digital Enterprise and teams in Canada within the Agile Excellence Domain
- Help stand up new Agile teams and provide consulting and coaching to these teams to support their development and ongoing improvements to become self-organizing, self-managing and highly functional. This includes supporting the development of Hub leaders, Product Owner, Scrum Master and the the development team
- Facilitate an environment of continuous improvement and adoption of agile/scrum practices
- Provide coaching on how to prioritize and manage items in the backlog and maintain a backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead
- Promote the Agile culture and mindset throughout the organization. This includes leading teams and influencing leaders and partners as they learn and adopt Agile practices by supporting them through coaching, mentoring, facilitating and teaching
- Contribute to the developing Agile Community through workshops, seminars, CoP's, etc...
- Promote the use of DevOps technical practices and tools
- Coordinate with other teams and coaches, facilitate preparation for Quarterly Increment Planning, and support the Agile Release Train estimates for larger features and capabilities
- Provide the educational support to the organization on Agile principles and Scrum/ Kanban practices or any additional Agile techniques to increase the Company-wide execution, innovation and overall maturity
- Make recommendations to the Lead Coach and contribute to the development and execution of the overall coaching strategy
- Provide insight and story telling using squad metrics/measurements to articulate progress

**What do you need to succeed?**
- You are a disciplined expert in Agile practices (Scrum, SAFe, and/or Kanban)
- 1 to 2+ years of coaching experience in Agile delivery / transformation / training / coaching.
- A test and learn attitude, a bias for action, a passion to innovate and a willingness to learn.
- Expert facilitator with mentoring, training and teaching experience
- Influencing skills in one on one scenarios and within a group. Uses emotional intelligence and humility to understand what motivates people to act.
- An exceptional degree of self-awareness and contextual awareness
- Collaborator in cross-functional teams on technology, design, business, and operations
- Organizational change management orientation
- Hands-on experience and previous accountability for delivery outcomes using Agile practices
